    TEFL Seagulls Around the World

Just curious. How many Brighton fans do we have teaching English around the world? I'm currently in Tunisia, having taught in Argentina, Syria and Azerbaijan. Wherever I go, my students learn about the magic of Brighton & Hove Albion Football Club. There are people everywhere I have taught who...

Very o/t - Anyone got experience of teaching English abroad?

In most British Council centres now around 50% of your work will be with children - one of the reasons we are moving on this summer! In some centres like Hong Kong some teachers have mostly kids classes, so you will be able to find the work you want if you hunt around.

Very o/t - Anyone got experience of teaching English abroad?

If you want to make a career out of this, a CELTA is a must. Even CELTA equivalents like mine cause problems and I frequently have to get confirmation emails that my course was legit! If all you want to do is travel around the world and pick up a bit of work here or there, a weekend or online...

    River Plate - Adios Millionarios!!!

They are £20 million in debt too so you wonder if they will be able to build a squad to challenge for promotion. The irony really is that the system set up to save them 20 years ago ultimately caught them in a season when they should have qualified for the Copa Sudamerica! Think there's going to...

    River Plate - Adios Millionarios!!!

Most of my Argentine friends are currently pissing thmeselves laughing at River!

    River Plate - Adios Millionarios!!!

I still believe that there will be some dodgy decisions and River will win by 2 goals to stay up. They only have to draw on aggregate, Belgrano as the team from League B have to win to gain promotion! Asian Handicap for River (-1) on Bet365 gives 1.80 so I've put a fair bit on!!

    River Plate - Adios Millionarios!!!

Most top flight football is based in Buenos Aires. Boca, River, Independiente, Racing, Huracan (now sadly relegated), San Lorenzo, Velez, Argentinos Juniors and All Boys are all in the city. Lanus, Banfield and Quilmes are districts just to the South. Tigre is a lovely town just a short train...

    River Plate - Adios Millionarios!!!

I saw too many dodgy late goals, usually to Boca or River, to believe that this couldn't happen!

    River Plate - Adios Millionarios!!!

I was in Salta for a year. Before that I had a year in Buenos Aires where I followed this year's champions, Velez Sarsfield, who also play in blue and white. Couldn't bring myself to support Racing Club who play in blue and white stripes because of a good friend who supports Independiente!

    River Plate - Adios Millionarios!!!

I still think River will miraculously win 3-0 in the second leg with the ref being able to retire afterwards! Belgrano of Cordoba will no doubt be rewarded somehow too. The lower leagues are even more complex. The team I followed when I lived in Salta, Gimnasia y Tiro who play in blue and white...

    River Plate - Adios Millionarios!!!

20 years ago River Plate finished in a relegation spot and the Argentine Football Association changed the rules to protect them. Relegation is decided in the average points gained over the last 3 years because of this, but the system has trapped River this year. They should have finished in a...

Anyone had a good experience of Tunisia

Those new adverts have proved a bit controversial in Tunisia because they don't understand the British sense of humour!

Anyone had a good experience of Tunisia

If you come to Tunisia expecting something akin to the Spanish costas, you are going to be sorely disappointed! Tunisia is a great country viewed through the right lens, but you need to come here with the understanding that it is a developing country, it is far from European, and it's not as...

Champions League Final: Manchester United vs Barcelona, who do you think will win?

In Barcelona at the moment. The appetite for success is enormous and I think United might be lucky if they touch the ball again!
