I did Marseille, Ajax and Roma away + Marseille at home (travelling down from the North East).
I’ve yet to do the full adding up for all of it, but I reckon somewhere in the region of £2,500. It was getting a bit of a stretch financially by Rome, but absolutely worth every penny.
Best in terms of technique? Best in terms of the match it happened in?
In any case, another edition of the flairest Albion player is clearly the competition the people want to see.
Or else biggest shithouse we’ve ever had?
We stood with Jon Filby in the queue for the buses going to the Roma away leg and he was very upbeat for the season, especially the chances of Jofra and Ollie Robinson featuring regularly.
I’d not met him before, but he seemed a really nice bloke. He was wearing a Sussex Sharks jacket, which...
I think it will all come down to the chat that will inevitably happen at the end of the season between RDZ and TB. RDZ has said throughout that he wants his goals to be aligned with the club's goals. The question from RDZ will be whether the real ambition is for a top 6-7 finish to be the...
If you can't enjoy us being in the knockout stages of the Europa League, something that has been unimaginable for 99% of our history as a club, you'll probably not enjoy anything we ever do.
I more meant as an instance where two teams were relatively closely-matched squad-wise, rather than the Man United vs Roma example cited above. But I'm sure you knew that ;)
They were definitely manually controlled by the stewards just beyond the turnstile. The steward standing in front of me told me so when I asked him what the hold-up was, as there'd been a red cross on the scanner for a couple of minutes and we'd not moved anywhere. I then saw the steward beyond...
The ticket scanners were manually controlled by the stewards standing just beyond them doing one of the searches. They were turned off constantly to stop anyone managing to evade being searched.
I was told by someone in our hotel when I asked the same question that the reason for no netting is that the away end changes to the opposite part of the ground when Lazio are at home, so they'd need to be constantly removing and re-adding it.
Lamptey looked much more of an attacking threat when he came on. I've been SO keen for the AF move to work out, but it just doesn't look like it will. He got injured at just the wrong time. Since coming back he has the look of someone not wanting to get injured again, knowing full well that he's...
They didn’t on Wednesday night, but certainly did from that Termini roundabout on Thursday! Perhaps I could have walked a bit to find one at a normal rate but I wasn’t hugely sure of my bearings in the dark so didn’t want to take a chance.
Apologies, my first post might have been a bit unclear! I did indeed get the bus back to Termini, from where I was looking to get a taxi back out to my hotel (not that far from the stadium, annoyingly). There wasn’t a shortage of taxis about, but they’d suddenly jacked the prices up to an...
In the end, I called our hotel for advice and they sent one for me from the company they partner up with. Probably took about an hour from getting dropped off by the shuttle bus to getting into a taxi.
Partly my fault for picking a hotel in an annoyingly difficult to get to and from part of town, which just created a load of hassle. Sitting in a bar on Wednesday night, with groups of Roma fans dressed in black and holding moped helmets standing outside making gestures really make for a...
