I feel for Ipswich and their floored players. I'm surprised any could walk off of the pitch with the endless clubbing we gave them. Brave little tearaways.
Mitoma had some loose passes that could have fully gotten us in the sh*t, but he of course has his moments of class.
Need some clinical magic back in his boots, and enough diversions from elsewhere to have him glide into deadly zones without question.
Mitoma hasn't got his silken zip since injury. Still quality though.
Pedro is class. Hope he gets reward for his body-twitching deceit and elegant gambol.
Beautiful to see him play those sidefoot passes perfectly weighted to feet, and then deliberately fall on top of the world's smallest centre half before staring him out for a second and trotting off with a proud yellow card.
I think the Zirkzee substitution had them give up the high press. That first 15 in the second half had us glide through them. A part-jammy goal for them thereafter, attacking a right side midfielder playing at leftback at last, and the luck of the stupid offside goal apart, we had the second half.
Playing against a 5 man midfield of reasonable quality, so need to rejig a bit to find our way through. Mitoma 2 touches and an assist.
It's horribly stressful watching. I don't remember it feeling like this 5 years ago.
Indeed. I was watching on mute, whilst having a small Saturday evening dance, saw the replay and jived with a pen-cancelling motion. I then did a tantrum dance as i couldn't believe the penalty decision stood. Stupid decision.
i've gone for a conservative 14th, but i think we'll find that spell in which we click, with Mitoma at full pelt and Minteh terrifying on the other wing, and Wieffer bossing things in the middle. If that spine takes shape, and has its fluttering identity around it, we might impress and surprise.
I love a player like Pascal, and there don't seem to be a myriad of them, who continues to learn the pace of the game going on around them, and knowing when and how to act within it, to control it in pieces in amongst the mayhem. So intelligent as a player, and that feels rare, to the point...
