I've got one of these and really recommended them. Quite expensive at £100 but, once set up for your car, goes on & off very quickly and, as yet, hasn't scratched any paintwork.
As you can adjust it so it sits quite high, it doesn't obscure the number plate and only obscures the lights a little...
Does anyone remember the old Comet store on what is now the Brighton Station development site?
Not really a warehouse, you had to go up a steep staircase to the upper floor where all the stock was.
Also in that area during the 80's was the gravel car parks such as Belmont St etc
How about the Lewes Rd area being some sort of petrol station metropolis. There was the esso at the bottom of Coombe Rd, The BP (where it is now), a Shell opposite where until very recently Budget Car Rental has been and the two Esso stations (Lewes Rd & Hollingdean Rd) that have also gone in...
There's probably a happy medium somewhere. The council went from a total 'keep off' the grass like it was sacred turf to allowing the Lady Boys of Bangkok to turn it into The Somme.
How about the low metal fence around the Steine, Victoria Gardens etc to keep people from walking on the grass?
If you were pissed and taking a short cut home, that fence was a proper death trap
Canhams (Have I spelt that correctly?) on Church Rd do huge cannon-ball sized ones for £1.50.
They are tremendous especially if you get them when they are still warm.
(i'd also recommend teaming this up with one of their mustard sausage rolls)
That is a great call.
Do you remember the little display cabinet with all the matchbox cars in it? Wasn't he (Mr Filby) an albino? Didn't he also wear the traditional brown shopkeepers jacket?
Red & White striped paper bags with 'Filbys' from their as well...
How about the MASSIVE red rope climbing frame they used to have in Prestion Park? Sadly removed when LOUTS slashed it.
I'm sure, at the top, you were ever so slightly in the Death Zone
Hmmm? Wasn't that David Rose and I'm sure it was another shop that didn't actually stock any sports stuff apart from these track suits and custom team kits.
Getting these tracksuits was the only reason why I went to Nevill Rd but I used to go to David Rose (when it was at the dials) loads.
How about those tracksuits that kids used to wear for their junior football teams? I think they all came from a sports shop in Nevill Rd?
They were all the same design, with a hood, made from itchy polyester and came in the team coulours with the team name on the back, in my case, 'Coombe...
I can't register? I've already got a Sky ID and subscribe to Sky World but keep going round in an annoying loop on their website?
It's like I'm in touching distance of the holy grail but...can't....quite.....get....there!
