[Albion] Brighton & Hove Albion vs Tottenham Hotspur *** Official Match Thread ***

the numbers may look marginally better but materially, we loo exactly the same as the back end of last season right now (not saying that won’t improve, obviously). arguably worse defensively

dunk totally isolated from the half way line to inside his own box against kulusevski there, no one even in shouting distance of being able to help out. absolutely crazy.

high line being exposed in under half a minute

    [Albion] Hürzeler’s (Brighton) Tactics

perhaps this is the missing ‘connection’ that fabian was talking about post-match. think it will be very interesting to see if he changes anything to mitigate that on sunday, because if there’s any team who’s pace in behind is going to cause problems for the back line, it’s spurs

[Albion] Julio Enciso - Paraguay’s new wonder kid (Signed 17/06/2022)

would be gutted to see him sold. in terms of natural talent, i don’t think we have anyone better in our squad, and for a period between the back end of 2022/23 and the start of last season, he was an absolute world-beater. if we can get him in form, he’s a clear match winner for us, similar to...

[Albion] how good are we, actually?

makes it all the more worse that we’re then relying on players like webster who are just not good enough for this level anymore. it’s one thing having depth that obviously is less good than the starters, but to lose one starting centre back and having to end up fielding that defence is a shambles

[Albion] how good are we, actually?

yeah this is where the combination of tactics and personnel really do us no favours. nothing inherently wrong with playing a high line but when you’ve got absolutely nobody with a modicum of pace to get back and make a recovery, or at least try and put the attacker off, it’s almost a guaranteed...

[Albion] how good are we, actually?

going back to this, and it’s still very early to judge, i’d say we’re a very decent side going forward. our defence/defensive tactics however are top-to-mid-table championship level

none of those were four goals in 20 mins and copious other chances

maybe nostalgia bias but i don’t remember there ever being such a bad defensive performance under RDZ

conceding four goals in one half when it’s so obvious what the problem is just simply isn’t good enough

just like last season so far then. absolutely ridiculous how we cannot go more than two games without a key player being injured.

[Albion] Chelsea v Brighton & Hove Albion*** SCORE PREDICTOR THREAD ***

3-1 to chelsea. our snails-pace back line will not be able to cope. that being said, chelsea are nowhere near as good as some are making out. we will get chances

[Albion] Trains to Brighton…….straight down the middle…..

only thing i would say is i do know there are megaphones you can buy where a message can be recorded and then replayed ad infinitum. she may benefit from one of those? i’ve seen them used at the amex before. must be a big stress on her voice to have to repeat it manually

    [Albion] Hürzeler’s (Brighton) Tactics

maybe some of that £200 million spent in the summer should have gone on a centre back with an iota of pace. one mistimed offside trap is all it takes, and we’ve conceded. absolutely zero ability to make recoveries in those situations
