I was actually refering to what happened hundreds of years ago, in respect of Britain controlling overseas lands (i.e the empire) and which I am sure is what you were well aware of! As this is what I refer to in the rest of post 88
I concur with you, what has what happened, hundreds of years ago with Britain gaining an overseas empire, got to do with the voting rights of individuals in the UK now.
Also for the wrongs of the British empire that some people point out, there were quite a few rights in my opinion. Such as a...
Ok to clarify, what I thought your previous thread (#55) was saying is that at present they have no direct control NOW in respect of monetry policy. Which by Scottish representation in the British parliament they do.
Off course if they voted for independence they would not have any say in the...
Like it has been since 1707 and in fact that is also not really true as well because at present Scottish politicians with Scottish constituencies can get elected to the British parliament and if elected control British economic and political policies that may actually be beneficial to Scotland...
The key matter in this for all Scots really is does independence mean the loss of Sterling. The present British government (e.g Cameron et al) need to make it clear (if they really want to keep the union, as they say) that full independence means no more sterling.
Independence means you either...
Ok, I was just providing a potential answer to any creationists question.
As someone once said (maybe even on NSC). Why do people believe carte blanche in the words of one book (the bible) which are writings from thousands of years ago and yet discount the peer checked scientifically verified...
As Albert Einstein told the world energy and mass are inter changable. All the mass (stars/planets/earth) in the universe was once energy, at the very early stages of the big bang.
A nuclear bomb converts mass into energy....so the thoery goes that the reverse happened at the initial stages of...
I hope your FRIED breakfast down the CLIFTONVILLE with your SAUCE does not look anything LIKE the one in the DOCUMENTARY. Do you think NOONE will start against BRIMINGHAM in place of Craig Mackerel Smith?
Having viewed the documentary myself, it was an absolute shambles for many reasons as others have pointed out on this thread.
But the very worst thing for me was the fried egg.
I do not think I have ever seen a fried egg as badly cooked as that. It looked totally inedible.
That's it. An equaliser in a Cup game, or equivalent of, in this case much more important, in the last minute and then going on to win after that.
There is no better feeling from abject misery (of thinking of going out) to the sheer relief and joy of having another bite of the cherry.
I think...
Brian Wade (4 goals in one game against Newcastle) yet barely played one other game that I can remember for us
Kevin Bremner
Stefan Iovan
oooohhh Gary Chivers
Indeed they are. They have fought and never given up for those whom are no longer here and can speak for themselves about the tragedy and the authorities responses to that tragedy (and the subsequent smear afterwards by the police/sun etc) that occured at Hillsborough.
I am sure that if their...
And I am sure you must factor in that there are other countries in the world with better survival rates of cancer than the UK.
In any case it is time for me to leave. Good evening and Seeeaaagullls.
I just really wanted to show the original OP that the NHS in my opinion is not beyond reproach, nor necessarily the best in the world, nor can be made better and I couldn't show this without giving the very personal example that I gave.
And I do feel with some left wing leaning people that they...
You said go and be ill somewhere else. My answer is I would rather be ill in France and with personal reasons listed above.
The NHS is not as great as you think it is.
