That's not what he said. He confirmed that he was over his illness, not that he was fit. Everybody seems to assume they are the same thing. Management obviously thought that he wasn't fit enough to play having not played for a couple of weeks and getting over the illness.

I was listening to the game and didn't realize Dunk had come on. I now see he replaced JFC in the 93rd minute. I guess that was when Kirkland was injured in extra time.
