Can't argue with that. And I think the closeness of the argument just confirms that we see him as versatile. GP loves that - I just hope it doesn't hinder his England chances (as I think it did for Gary Stevens when he moved to Spurs).
For all the jokes about Maty's height issues, we have seen the advantage, assuming equal shot stopping skills, of a keeper being taller. The whole defence seems to be more confident because of it.
One positive (and admitedly it was because Leeds had no one in midfield) I spotted was Webster (and White) driving forwards. It's such an effective way to transition and overloads the defence. Gone are the days of Dale's infinite sideways passes.
There are better defensive midfielders (more specialist) at the club or potentially coming. With Ben's skills coming forward, I'd have him at CB and let his amd Webster make their forward probing runs as an when the opportunity presents.
You are joking? I think you're confusing defending well with being defensive. We ptressed, sometimes with three players, from the front (as discussed in The Times today), we played out from the back and transitioned quickly (for once you might say). Hughton did none of that.
Glad this is being recognised. Like any defender, he can get caught out, particularly seems blind sided by overlapping runs (this could be more to do with the ever changing midfiled not covering), but has looked really good since signing and is now getting more conifident going forward. Gives GP...

I follow the Albion and want us to do well. I hated watching us in the last half of our second season in the Prem and lost my mojo. Everyone wants to do well but I like to enjoy the football. And I love seeing my footy mates (most of whom I made at the...
I agree that it is about wages as much as (if not more than) the headline purchase price. But it is possible to stay up without paying £100k+ to players. Here are Burnley's 20/21 wages - which are up from the previous year:
