I don't bother with the BBC weather app. It hardly ever seemed to give the correct current or forecasted weather in the past when I had it.
I use AccuWeather on my phone and Netweather for more detailed forecasts on the pc.
But they don't need to. e-tickets are only worth doing if you're planning and buying in advance to take advantage of a "cheap" fare.
Simple solution, make the everyday ticket more reasonably priced, do away with e-tickets and just have the same tap in/out that TfL use on your credit/debit card...

I don't think they can. The temporary provision covered by the covonavirus act 2020 expired on 25th March 2022.
