I was trying to listen out for a name, but it wasn't apparent - sorry. He didn't exactly stand out, so it may be irrelevant. Obviously I'm ready to be quoted in five years' time when he turns out to be a superstar and we sell him to Man Utd for £80M.
Was a really enjoyable match, very competitve between a youthful Albion XI and an almost full strength Littlehampton side. Golds took the lead with a thumping header from new signing Marshall Ball and were the better side in the first half, but Albion's superior fitness saw them take control in...
Really looking forward to this, hoping for a good crowd to raise plenty of money for Chestnut Tree House, although I might have to root for my hometown underdogs, sorry! Will be interesting to see what sort of Albion U-21 line up it is, should be too strong for LA whoever they field, though...
I'm heading to Munich for the England game next week and we have decided to use an Interrail Pass, which works out to be great value and much less hassle than flying. You can travel on any 4 days in a 30 day period and the price (£209) includes travel to/from St Pancras as well as Eurostar and...
We're also taking the early train, Green Man route. There's a queuing system at LA station from 5:30am, apparently. Although they've put at least one extra train on, it's going to be really busy. Only 8 coachloads booked with Seasgulls Travel, so the vast majority will be going by train or car.
The only absentee who would otherwise be first choice is Scotty Kirkwood, who is suspended for all 3 cup finals (poor bloke). Otherwise a clean bill of health at the moment. Going to be tough for Mitch to select his team and subs, as there are well over 20 players who have contributed this...
General misbehaviour amongst the travelling Littlehampton supporters, basically. Smoke bombs lobbed onto the pitch, fireworks let off at full time (one of which ended up narrowly missing a crowded area) and leaving the place in a bit of a mess afterwards. Nothing that better stewarding wouldn't...
It was a bit of an anticlimax all round, really. Littlehampton also had a couple of first choice players missing because of pre-booked holidays, but the squad is very strong so were able to cope with that.
The hastily arranged 11am Sunday morning kick off at an out of town ground, with the...
Fairly comfortable for Littlehampton this morning against Newhaven, who didn't help themselves by giving away two really sloppy goals through defensive mistakes. League and cup double secured, the big one next Sunday to look forward to.....
Luckily for me, should I choose not to hotfoot it back to The Amex, I'm sure I will be able to find a pub with the Premier League Final Day feed.
I've missed three home Albion games this season; one was the ridiculous kick off on Boxing Day and the other two were to watch Littlehampton Vase...
Nope. Went to Littlehampton from the ages of around 12-15. Season ticket at Albion from 1987. Home and away pretty much constantly since then. Have chosen to go to Littlehampton more this season because the majority of their games haven't clashed with Albion.
So, apparently, despite having held a season ticket for 30+years, watching them play at 80+ grounds in over 1,500 matches, Brighton are no longer my team because I want to watch my home town club play at Wembley in a once-in-a-lifetime match ???
As mentioned above, I don't believe there is currently a contract in place for anyone to show the Vase game live. That could, of course, change nearer the date - BT have traditionally shown the Trophy and Vase finals live.
The 12:15 kick off would give you plenty of time to get to The Amex...
Peter Bentley Cup Final (Littlehampton v Newhaven) has been rearranged for 11am, Sunday 15th @ Horsham. Clashes with the trip to Leeds, which will disappoint a few.
Yes, I should have mentioned that the keeper didn't seem remotely bothered.
Although we won, it wasn't a great night for Littlehampton as we had a player sent off which means he now misses all three finals, including the game at Wembley. Gutted for him. The Hassocks player didn't help by...
I suspect that Ringmer are unaware of the reason behind Hassocks declining to host the game.
There were loads of smoke bombs let off last night, which I don't have a problem with at all - especially in such an open arena - but they were thrown in the direction of the keeper a couple of times...
