Given Tony Bloom's general stance on transfers, I would be stunned if we sold White to Leeds this summer. Despite what their fans might think, there is a fair chance that Leeds will be in bottom half of the Premier League (and we may well be there too). Why would we sell to a potential rival...
As I've said before, I'd be very surprised if Propper stayed here if not first choice. Whatever you might think, he is far too good to be back up for Brighton.
To be fair to Button, I actually thought he did okay last season when he played while Ryan was on international duty. He's not as good as Krul but we were very fortunate to have such a good back up the first season up and he clearly didn't want to be back up anymore. Only time will tell if...
Absolutely. They do come along. But for every one of them, there are a number of Joelinton or Locadia transfers, which do not work out. I'd actually say that Maupay has done pretty well this season considering it is his first in the Premier League, but we still need another striker option
I think that Stephens and Propper together in midfield is a bit slow and causes us problems. I probably would try to sell Stephens in the summer. It would be a shame as he has been a fantastic player for us, and I would be happy if he stayed another season. However, with the options coming...
Maybe much better was harsh on Knockaert but I think he has contributed more this season than Knockaert did in either of his seasons with us in the Premier League. I think it will be interesting to see him playing alongside one or two better attackers (or by developing more of an understanding...
I agree with that. Think we will probably have Propper, Bissouma and Alzate as midfield three next season with Mooy, Gross and maybe Molumby as back up options
Most wingers do that. There aren't many wingers who don't drift in and out of games. However, in the Premier League, I think he's much better than Knockaert when at their best. He can influence games more. And he doesn't get so frustrated and likely to get booked/sent off when not on form.
There is no way a player of Propper's quality, whatever you might think of him, will stay and be a reserve at Brighton. He had Ajax interested in him not too long ago
Agree with all of that. I think people really are deluding themselves if they think there are going to be big changes in the summer.
On top of Schelotto and Kayal, one of the back up keepers will go to make way for Walton in the squad. A centre back will go (probably Duffy due to him not...
I think we're only a couple of players away from being a top 10 side but not the ones mentioned in the OP.
Goalkeeper we are fine and hopefully Walton (and Sanchez further ahead) will increase competition in that position. Ryan is definitely good enough for a top 10 side. I really don't...
I see you carefully ignore the rest of my post. It is pretty clear you have an agenda for some reason so there is no point in arguing. Either way, goalkeeper is clearly not a position we should be prioritising to improve over the summer. There are clearly bigger priorities
Everton fans regularly criticise Pickford. McCarthy wasn't even Southampton's first choice at the start of the season. Dubravka is decent but still makes mistakes.
Henderson is a top five keeper as he is owned by Manchester United. Pope and Leno are very good.
But all this is irrelevant as, if...
Because he is far away from the first player we should be replacing. And you keep asking about which top six or top 10 teams would want to sign him. That is irrelevant. We are neither currently and a lot of our players would not interest those teams either.
To replace either Ryan or Propper...
Agreed. I thought we played really well after the first 10 minutes. Could easily have fallen apart and got beaten comfortably but we really had a go. On another night, Burn takes his chance and who knows what happens at 2-2
Are you seriously saying we should let Ryan go because no top six team would be interested in him? You do realise we have finished 15th and 17th and are currently 15th in our Premier League seasons?
Did you read my post? I questioned two of the players you criticised and said you had a point with one, although didn't think this was the time to start the thread. Where does that translate to me thinking every player is great?
Propper is one of out best players. Yes, he made a mistake tonight for the first goal but to say he is not good enough for us is ridiculous.
Ryan is also great. He is a brilliant shot stopper. Despite what you say, I saw his stats the other day and his passing is in the top three in the Premier...
