Is he any good with a football? Perhaps we could play him down the left wing. With Will Buckley on the right we'd have the two fastest wingers in the league!! :D
Have you tried a futsal ball. Deliberately heavy and not for kicking hard but great for learning to control the ball at your feet. For a standard ball I agree with all those that say size three.
Pity it wasn't an adults match. Could have gone ahead as arranged. It would just have been a shame if their cars and caravans had got in the way but it was marked out for a match!
Great thread. Give Brighton back to LA!!!! No way is this a Porstmiff town. There are a few blue shirts but many more stripes. Always though Bognor was 50-50 but east of that it's Brighton.
Pat Jennings. Not only great on crosses but was he first keeper I can remember to regularly use his legs to block the ball. Before BIG Pat goalkeepers used their hands. He could catch crosses with one hand and even dived and caught the ball with one hand. Then there was his goal at Old Trafford...
I'm not sure that we had that much effect on his performance. He wasn't having a bad game when going forward and was looking more dangerous than Lallana, Do Prado and Hammond. However, his defensive work was appalling (just like when he played for us). I think Gus will have known that from his...
One dimensional?
Admittedly he does most of his good work down the left.
However, he can go round the outside, he can cut inside, he can cross on the run, he can cross whilst sending the defender in the wrong direction and he can shoot!
What more can we ask for?
I don't think many care too much when somebody jumps up in front of them from time to time as it is all part of the excitement (I hope they don't as I do it!). What people object to is when people proclaim that everyone should stand at the game on the 27th just because of who we are playing. It...
Probably not.
When I was a kid I remember going down to Ham Manor Golf Club to try out some caddying (good money at Ham Manor). Anyway, I couldn't believe it when, after a few days, eddie turned up and chose my mate to caddy for him (he was ecstatic). I followed in the match behind. I was so...
Seconded.
Where were these people when the on-pitch demos were going on in the nineties? Where were they when we went up to Mellor to demonstrate outside the Chairman's house? Where were they when we marched through London in protest? Oh, of course, they were probably in nappies or maybe hadn't...
So Doncaster Rovers think Billy Sharpe was targeted do they? Send them the video of our game against Exeter City (I think it was them) at Withdean. Nine of their ten outfield players, plus one sub, were booked during that game and every single one was for a foul on Bobby Zamora! After getting...
As much as I dislike Orient, they are a much bigger club. Oxford have only been in the Football League for one season!
To be a little more serious, though, they only became a full League club in 1962 and only had a successful time in the 1980's because they were being bankrolled by somebody...
It's funny how people's opinions start differing over a period of time. As I remember it, Saints had virtually given up on the title as they went into the last game, one point behind Bolton who had a much easier home game with Fulham (which also ended 0-0).
However, Lawrie McMenemy was reported...
