Be careful to buy the right size - it's easier to buy the wrong size than the right one.
I'd suggest removing the lock, leave someone fearsome at home, and take the lock to your DIY store. That way you can pick the one with the holes in the right places.
So, perhaps most likely to win neither. But, which of the above 2 choices is the more likely?

There's also something in the rules that the bottle has to be clear plastic. My little bottle was refused last season as it was too opaque. I thought I had done so well turning up with a bottle the right size and without its lid, but no.
Oh I can help with that as that was my primary means of transport in 1968 and 1969. Natural instinct was to hold on tight. (Cycle helmets weren't thought of, although some motorbike riders perhaps did use a skid lid.)
Sram! I did the ridelondon thing today and included a ride from home to the start. So 128 miles into the 130 my doubletap shifter snapped off! I suppose it is whole new shifter time rather than just the aluminium lever?
