Bed wetters/lickers.
Or worse, people using the phrase bed wetters ironically.
People predicting impossible points totals - eg. 'How many will we get from the next three games?' And some wit says 8.
Saw him and his band at Primavera. Sounds far far more rocky live and the show benefits from lacking the excessive over instrumentation that makes MCIII a step down from MCII. Really want to see him again but he hasn't played Brighton in ages.
Yeah they definitely don't use water dummies after every technical fault. In this case it would not have helped. Roller coasters have a system of block brakes that divide the track into sections - one train is not allowed by the system into the next 'section' before the sensor at the next block...
I'm planning on booking The Salt Room in the next few days. Two questions -
1. Why have you gone for particular table numbers? Any reason why I want to be requesting table 24 or 26?
2. How do I do that? Ring up the restaurant I assume, as you can't do it on the website.
Our other option is...
New Sun a Kil a moon album - Universal Themes - out today. Enjoyed first listen but it's certainly going to be a tough nut to crack - wilfully inaccessible at times with the lyrics and song lengths.
John Grant announced 1 of only 2 English shows at the Dome today. £25.50 though. Ouch!
What is Together the People? The line up on Ticketmaster looks shit for £45 and is it full of people who aren't going to be very interested in SFA? Gutted they didn't just announce a Dome date - their last...
Out of possibles, definitely Prince. Would like to see Tom Petty as well.
Seen so many bands that I wanted to tick off in last few years, though - Bruce, Neil Young and Crazy Horse, Television and soon The Replacements.
Avoiding thinking about the fact that I'm missing the Furries tonight (too expensive, and Brixton Academy...) with Lower Dens at The Green Door Store. They were great last time I saw them in Brighton at the Hope so expecting more of the same - new album is great.
What does one actually do at a food festival? This is a genuine question. I see there are chef master classes, but these require further (free) tickets when you're there. Are you essentially paying for the privilege of paying again to buy food?
