we are now 17th in the league on goals scored.
Still in a good position for play offs but we do have to score more
to get there.
we do not play 1 up front we play 3
unfortunately none of the 3 attackers are scoring enough at the moment.
same goes for midfield bar crofts
Real Madrid, Barcelona...
currently conceded the third least goals but only 17 th on goals scored
would be surprised if the team with the 17 th most goals scored can get promotion.
testing for young jake and Rohan
2 games so soon on 2 pudding pitches
if Dave Orlandi kemy not trusted to start in centre
it seems a bridcutt / crofts replacement is priority this week
Ryan Giggs solved his hamstring problems in 2 ways
1 yoga
2 he said he NEVER went flat out again
Giggs had many other qualities than his youthful pace
does Buckley?
Can not see Oscar of Barcelona tradition reverting to a 4 4 2
With the absence of crofts 4 2 3 1 could be a pragmatic comprise.
But Oscar in interviews talks of playing one way so I cannot see that
happening either.
With so many clubs only playing one striker players must realize that...
well that depends if you mean an alternative to what we have
or an alternative addition.
still think we need to replace Barnes more than Conway
a goal threat from wide in a 433 more than a provider
although hopefully both.
when some have caught up with the skill set required for the forward...
playing 4 3 3
you need goals and assists from wide attackers
i think Buckley has more goal threat than Lua Lua and Conway
But may never recover full pace with chronic hamstring problems
and pace is his main attribute
Lack of goals from wide attackers has been the biggest weakness this season
and...
excellent ideas!
Do not think foreign quota policy would be legal within
EU common labour market.
An alternative is to phase in a positive quota for players coming through clubs
own academy.
with no Barnes Buckley and Lua Lua
have to start with either march or Orlandi
preferably both in a 4 2 3 1
with Lopez ,Augestien or JFC as the other attacking midfielder
a midfield of Ince Andrews and bridcutt would sit far too deep
and just invite pressure.
Whilst Orlandi does not provide the defensive cover of crofts he can certainly
play as the most attacking member of a 3 man midfield or as part of a 3
in a 4 2 3 1
it is a bit like the debate whether Ince can be a replacement for bridcutt
obviously physically very different and different...
surely we wouldn't offer Hoskins another deal?
Even if we stay in the championship I think we will have a very different squad.
Let's hope we have more luck(better judgement?) regarding injuries.
crofts has had a great season
runs up and down all game long
It will be harder to play only one defensive midfielder without him.
but with 2 players behind Orlandi or Augestien can be just as important.
certainly big candidate for player of the season.
time for Orlandi or Agustien to step up.
both have the ability and with Ince and Andrews behind them
should have the freedom to play
what will CMS role be ?we can rule out starting 442
so its cover or sub for ulloa
or throwing on another striker late on searching for a goal
or playing in a wide striking position ala theo Walcott
On consideration I think his best role may be subbing ulloa
if we are already up and looking...
Must admit I have been worried with the possible sales of Bridcutt and Barnes .
Much reassured now Ince has signed an extension.
Now we have not only the money from the sale of Barnes with half a season left on his contract
But also money from the bridcutt sale with an exciting prospect to take...
