I think technically it has, to a point. Tactically, however...
I put the performance against Scotland down to Southgate. He got it massively wrong. If we'd gone out with a positive attitude form the start like we did against Croatia I think we would have won.
I don't think it's the result that really caused the consternation more so the way we went about achieving it.
It's incredibly frustrating watching us set up to be defensively 'solid'. We're pretty average at best defensively but we have a large amount of quality creative and attacking...
First up, fair play to Scotland. If I was Scottish I'd be very proud of that team and performance. They played with pace, energy, commitment and to a structure and plan.
All I've ever wanted from my teams is that they try their best and have a go. It's not a lot to ask. It's what Scotland...
This game is dull. Too bad there's no Zlatan to score with a backheel from the halfway line or something. Actually just Zlatan standing in the centre circle staring at people imperiously would be more entertaining than this game ao far.
I'm looking forward to the game. It's hard not to smile at how excited they all are at being in a tournament for the first time this millennium.
It'll be interesting to see whether they maintain their traditional twentieth century tournament form by finding new and inventive ways of getting...
I thought he did his clattering very well. He must have given away four or five fouls without a hint of a yellow card. If we can get everyone on that kind of ratio we'll be at Italy levels of opponent disrupting.
But I was thinking more of the knockouts where Henderson should be closer to...
Where does a fit Henderson fit in to this team? Before yesterday it ws obviously in place of Phillips but after his performance yesterday would that be wise?
What an excellent result!
I was dubious about a few of those selections but fair play Southgate and the team nailed it. Including Mings who had a very solid game. Lovely stuff.
It's coming home!!!
