I'd like to see a list of the 2021 summer signings which we complained we weren't in for, and how they actually did.
We know we were in for Nunez, and he seemed to do alright. But the ones we weren't in for?
There was Eduoard, played 31, goals 6. Afam Armstrong, played 28, goals 2. Who else...
Some big fees received as well, £250m in last five years from just Kante, Drinkwater, Mahrez, Maguire and Chilwell. Guess they spent their windfalls on the squad, rather than pocketing profits like some owners.
It's quite compressed in the middle, so although we've beaten our' wages' position by 6 places' we've only spent £30m less than the team with the 9th highest wage bill. Meanwhile Man Utd spent £118 more than the 6th highest wage bill, could have saved themselves some pennies there!
These are...
I think Leeds will win, so the question is whether Burnley can match that result. Newcastle really playing well now, just beat Arsenal 2-0, and can see them competing hard at Turf Moor.
Could Chris Wood score the goal that relegates Burnley?
And think this, if Burnley draw and Leeds win...
At the top, you'd have to go some to best the year when Liverpool played Arsenal for the title. Then there was the year when Blackburn won it, or the Aguero last minute winner to take the title.
At the bottom, there was the 04-05 season when West Brom started bottom on the last day and...
Trossard said "I still have a contract with Brighton until the summer of 2023. Will the big six come knocking for me at Brighton? We will see. If I really feel ready for that step up, I’ll get into it, but I realise every day I’m not bad at Brighton.”
But certainly no rumours that any of the...
Yeah, think they're a given. Trossard is the interesting one, with the possible exception of Bissouma, out of the list above he seems the one who most wants to go to a big 6 side, but also the one who might be least in their thoughts. Reckon it could become a bit of a saga.....
It could, it seems unlikely, I'd actually be surprised if Leeds don't win, but I suppose they could implode if Brentford get one early and keep attacking on the break. But it will most likely be quite cagey from Leeds for the first hour as a draw could be enough for them.
If rumours are to be believed, or contracts not renewed, it could be any or all of Bissouma, Gross, Cucurella, Trossard, Maupay, MacAllister, Welbeck, Sanchez, Lamptey and big Shane.
The body language watchers will be out in force!
I agree, a complete legend but probably time. He's had a real Indian summer these last couple of months but for most of the season he's been a bit of the standards of the rest of the side. We will do nothing but wish him well, and absolutely a critical signing who was one if the most important...
For me its our highest ever position I'm mainly hoping for. We equal that if Villa don't beat City away, so pretty darn confident of that. We beat it if Villa don't win and one of Brentford, Newcastle and Palace don't win. Those three all have winnable games, but the odds are good with Leeds...
No. Right now Brighton is a development side, developing talents for our future in every way. Doing that whilst being comfortably mid table is a heck of an achievement, and Hughton didn't show signs that he could do that. Instead CH had a team of battle hardened experienced pros that kept us up...
Well you were phenomenally wrong, as well as being obviously wrong. Newcastle have won 6 of their last 7, won 6 and drawn 3 of their last 9. Not quite sure how you ever concluded they were there for the taking :)
Unfortunately Liverpool have an even better recent record.
Khadra might make sense - van Hecke less so as he's having a Ben White season by all accounts and we certainly need to strengthen our back line next season having sold both White and Burn with no replacement.
Of course if the club thinks those two aren't going to make the step up, and they know...
