First couple of listens to the St. Vincent album and I'm impressed. All sorts of influence in there - modern pop music, Bowie, Prince and those jazz licks she did so well on the last LP. I have a feeling like all her stuff its going to be a major grower.
I can't be arsed to sit down and work it out but I'd imagine The acts on the X Factor have produced more good songs since it launched in 2004 than the Gallagher brothers have. Not that I mean that as a recommendation, mind.
If anyone's going to Ulrika Spacek later (I can't make it unfortunately) both supports should be good but keep an eye out for openers Happy Couple who are 3/4 of one of my favourite Brighton bands of recent years Lunar Quiet having tragically lost the other 1/4 to suicide last year.
They...
The Eagles started 4-0 last year and struggled down the stretch. They've improved and may well be good enough to win what looks a fairly mediocre division but they'll struggle to make a dent in the playoffs without a bit more talent in the skill positions.
Well, Alex Smith is running out of receivers and the Chiefs defense has given up a lot of yards this season.
We must manage Hunt and not turn the ball over. I rewatched the Jags game yesterday (painful I know.) It's on Ben clearly but we actually moved the ball pretty well against one of the...
This insinuation that independent means expensive is complete horseshit. I don't doubt you may be able to get some good deals if you scout around but a high number of the places in the Marina don't even represent good value.
I don't think anyone is saying chains are vermin and I'd imagine most...
It's only a 15/20 minute bus ride into town from Whitehawk or a half hour walk.
I live in Newhaven now so it's not as if I don't go past the ****ing thing every time I come into Brighton (which is still a lot.) Unless you've got a young family I just don't understand why you'd (as some people I...
It's fine if you've got completely vanilla tastes but I then question why you would pay a premium to live in a city with a thriving contemporary arts scene to ignore it and regularly experience something you could in any mid sized town in the country?
I assume you've got kids so the proximity of bowling and food is useful so I'm not specifically picking on you here.
But I find The Marina an interesting watertest of people. If they really like the combination of uninspiring, identikit, entertainment and dime a dozen national chain restaurants...
Wasn't it Merson that said he didn't know any of Brighton's signings as a critique on Brighton's transfer window activity rather than his own woeful 'punditry.'
It's your ****ing job to know mate.
McClaren won a Dutch title with FC Twente after being England manager.
The suggestion is a little unfair given international managers, especially these days, are old so unlikely to go on to better things after the job
