I was never "gutted" not to be champs, that would have been a bonus, I was never bothered about it - though to be fair, with games to go, we probably should have done it.
I felt it would have been better for the club if they had lost the cup final on Sat and forced their hand to get rid of him. As much as he has done for that club, he is no longer at the races.
It's a little odd seeing Sky news reporting live 400 yards from my house. I could walk down to the Post Office and be one of those morons who makes silly signs behind the reporter. Maybe not.
Not really bothered, but the way Huddersfield comprehensively outplayed us, I thought they'd be above us as the end of the season. Having both teams promoted would have Granny Weatherwax wetting himself, I guess.
I thought we'd be mid-table, outside chance of playoffs at best, after last season.
I'm not sure if humble pie is a savoury dish or a sweet one. If it is Piglets Pantry humble pie, I'll take mine with a bit of mustard or vanilla ice cream
I had no idea this was on, just found out when they reported the score on the news. Needless to say, Sky 2 is now on my tellybox. Oh, how I've missed those Northern vocal tones of Bumble. My summer starts here.
I had heard the same, though it's ages since I went over there. The Crown and Anchor I thought had new staff too. The food in there was really good 3 years ago, I gather it's not so good now - maybe it's early days.
I don't mind him, he is without doubt a good manager, but he has lost his humour over the years. In the early days at Chelsea he used to have a glint in his eye and could be quite funny. He seems to have lost that and seems very incredibly serious now. He does moan a lot, granted. I still hope...
Ah, yes. Not one I ever went to. I think I've done all the others that I have been around for. I never went to the Kings Head, but used to go past it every Friday on my way to scouts. Always seemed to be packed.
I was in Tescos yesterday looking for Harissa but didn't find it. I've never bought it but it sounds like a good things for a real tasty dish. I watched a Mary Berry recipe on Sat for a spiced lamb stew using it and thought I'd give that a go. I have checked Tescos online and see they have it...
As boys 9d listed, we have lost a few more than that over the years, but as you say, most of them were probably no great loss, really. Where was the beehive, I don't recall that one ? Certainly we still have no shortage of places for a beer (and even more places for a coffee, these days)
