Just a side observation, having watched the game again. Our players are seriously good at controlling a long pass (and at spotting and playing it too). It's incredibly rare that they lose control and seem to bring the ball under control with ease. Astonishing.
Sadly, a one season wonder for us. He is a coveted player. And whilst clearly happy here, he will be playing for a regular champions league side next season and on a very significant wage or stuck at Chelsea.
Goodbye (at the end of the season) and thanks for all the fish Levi.
I hope so too. I just meant that I suspect a lot of managers and coaches will now be looking at what RdZ does and copying it. It is great to watch, effective and players must love it. That's an impact few managers can claim to have had on the Premier League.
Agree with everything being said. Amazing times.
One thing that struck me was that we were prepared to pass into players being more tightly marked, and the lay offs often seemed more "last second". That seemed to commit their players and take them out of the move even more effectively than...
At the top of the league, teams don't drop many points (obvs). So catching up - even with games in hand - is very much harder than at the bottom of the league, where points are rarer, and therefore have more of an impact.
We're used to a few wins making a big difference to our position. That's...
I think we missed Caicedo against Arsenal more than Ali Mac. He provides so much cover across the back four, which was palpably missing v Arsenal. Going forward, we still looked pretty strong.
Astonishing player. We need him for the run in. He seems really durable, so despite being crocked last night, I have high hopes of him playing on Saturday.
