I think there's some crossed wires and I probably haven't helped.
Patriotism and nationalism are obviously different things. There is no harm in folk, waving their flags and having a good old sing-song for England. Aside of that I still see this 'Football Lads' thing going on. And I think it's...
I'm just pleased I can stop droning on about it now. I suspect other folk will be very pleased that I stop banging on about how much better it is in rugby. But I still can't believe that it's taken this long.
That said, you're probably right
Euro 2021 anyone ? London final.
Perhaps I should clarify that my post was not a swipe at all English fans and included the multitudes that don't attend. I'm an England fan. But the talk and chatter around these tournaments is often dominated some bizarre chest pumped nationalism.
As much as...
The only England match I have ever attended was in Ireland in 1995. My first and last. The most toxic atmosphere imaginable. I'm guessing it must have improved with a plethora of banning orders.
And hardly any bother or a shaven headed gammon in sight.
I wish England had fans like Scotland.
I'd be surprised if it's that many mind. That's about 5% of their able population.
I think NSC is the best it's ever been. Ten years ago it was still a bit Facebooky at times. I think we're just a bit older now. Maybe a little more cantankerous.
I can see the Jocks pulling a shock here. Remember, this is the Euros
Oh, no. I had a thought. Remember Greece 2004 ?
Just supposing. I mean, after 60 years of 'hurt' and them standing the other side of Hadrian's with the trophy mooning at us.
