It is happening the country over. Because our manufacturing industry is in such decline, we don’t have good jobs for school leavers. Therefore let’s give them better access to further education instead - obviously that keeps them off the streets, out of the job market, gives them hope, creates...
It’s true but think of the planning and preventative measures (and cost) that goes into all of that. Take away all of that and it would have the potential to get very messy very quickly. Not everywhere, but in enough places to think it’s turned back into being a major problem again.
Sadly every club has its share of idiots for whom having a scrap is part of a day out, no matter the consequences. Some clubs have more than others.
I doubt any/many of them genuinely go into it thinking that they are going to kill or be killed but especially in today’s society you know that...

A couple in front of me were told in the queue for the East Upper that they couldn’t bring their carrier bags into the ground today.
They queried it and were told it’s a new policy - no carrier bags.
Now that’s just bizarre. Maybe I’m missing the point but what is the risk of a carrier bag...
Oh yes, the Green Brigade who regularly sing about political causes such as Palestine (there’s a time and a place for that) and deliberately wrecked any attempt to pay respect to the Queen when she died.
And that doesn’t even cover their sectarian bigotry and songs about the IRA.
Those few...
