Totally get where you're coming from on that, which is why you absolutely must do your own research. Trouble is, most people can't be arsed so they follow what someone else says - then they get burned. I did, but not badly (thankfully..) It was a good lesson.
All I can say is let common sense...
I freely admit I'm a bit late to the crypto space - even though I'd hovered around for a long time. I bought BTC and ICP on a recommendation from a friend, who had a friend who was a 'pro trader' who told her to buy... and I got burnt. There's your first lesson right there, which I learnt. Do...
I bought one of these last Christmas... then my Son got COVID and scuppered the whole of Christmas, so it went into storage.
They've got a use-by date which expires one year past the sun burning out so it's being rolled out for this one. If he gets COVID again I'll beat him to death with the...
I'm very much into Crypto but agree with your points. This, to me, and I'm possibly making this up, is 'Web2 Crypto'. What's coming next on Web3 is tokenisation of real-world assets. NFT's aren't just cartoon pictures of monkeys in tracksuits. BTC to me is just people like Saylor talking it up...
There's a section of decking in our back garden which I haven't got round to painting yet (we recently moved in) with a steel beamed section. There's a little ledge on it and every night for the past 4 nights (when I let the dog out for her bedtime tiddle) - this little fella is staring at me...
That's the thing... there won't be just one.
It's like talking about browsers on a computer. Safari, Firefox, Edge, Opera, Chrome, Explorer - which one?
Well, they all work - and they all have their strengths and weaknesses. Some are best for one thing, others are best for other things.
Just...
I still find it surprising that the future of money movement is largely overlooked. We ARE going to Blockchain, but nobody is paying any attention!
I don't. It's all a big casino.
The only thing I take seriously is XRP and XLM.
There are other coins and tokens with utility, of course, but for me XRP will be a bridge currency the world will use and come to depend upon.
My bags are packed.. I'm just sitting and waiting.
Decent time to be buying right now. I'd be onto XRP and XLM.
If ETH gets down to £1,000 it's worth a go, too.
Finally, with BTC going to the blockchain could it be pegged to gold in the US?
Poor old G-Pott is getting a proper bashing. He's jumped straight into the fire, so bollocks to him. If it all goes tits up for him he walks away with a fat pay off - and a large bag of regrets.
