Ah, but they've got their shiny blue passports back and can get their King Edwards in pounds instead of kilograms, so well worth all the teething problems they're going through
Will it be adding more congestion to the already screwed up traffic system on the seafront, or have they limited the road closures which would be more sensible?
I just saw somebody in a supermarket buying a sombrero, an 18 pack of Corona and some paella...
I thought to myself, 'I can't believe it. Hispanic buying!'
I had to work in Austin for a few weeks. Loved it, great city and music scene. And, like you say the people are amazing, not at all like the 'redneck' label they get stereotyped with. Bit of an eye opener I must say
I remember watching a comedy series called the Righteous Gemstones with John Goodman, very funny and tells you all you need to know about the mega-churches and Televangelists who have proliferated all over the States. And it's all tax free folks. How the f*** can people be so gullible. Had hoped...
Most of these companies are not energy producers but energy traders. When the utility companies were privatized and deregulated it paved the way for foreign ownership and companies like these. Essentially all they do is sign you up and bill you each month, something anyone could do. Be it...
But the UK can go back to using pounds and ounces instead of those pesky grams and kilograms, so it's all been worth it.

That's the UK, always looking to the future..............................
I think the problem may be, IMO, that the UK will be negotiating from a position of weakness with just a hint of desperation. The US and other countries will be aware of this and will use it to their advantage during the bargaining phase
Anyone can do a deal with anyone, that's not the difficult bit, it's the terms of the deal which are important. And having seen Boris' negotiating skills on Brexit I'm not holding my breath
So Boris toddled off to Washington with high hopes of brokering a free trade deal. Turns out Biden is fairly indifferent to such an arrangement, why wouldn't he be he has no need of such a deal and does not want to rock the boat with the Republic of Ireland. Seems that the UK is still hopeful of...
Asian people have worn masks all year round on the subway in NYC for as long as I can remember
Speaking to an Asian women in our office she said they wear them even when they don't have any illness, it is a courtesy to other passengers
The Giants did everything they could to lose 30-29 against Washington.
The real stunner was an offsides penalty on Dexter Lawrence with no time left on the clock, which gave Dustin Hopkins a second chance to attempt a game-winning field goal after a miss. Washington will remember this game for...
Interesting article in today's Guardian about a guy who was sacked at 64 and then set up his own company - so guess it's never too late. One of the reader comments caught my eye, It was saying that about 80% of people hate their jobs, sounds about right to me, but then went on to say that there...
Always liked the fact that although it was probably backed with American money it really was a British affair - most of the cast, the technicians and Pinewood studios (at least for all the early Bonds)
I think for a long time the UK had a much deserved reputation in Hollywood for its back of...
I think its payback for all those Brits who said they couldn't understand how America could possibly elect someone from a TV reality show......................
When you elect a clown expect a circus. As one of the comments in the Guardian article said - when you have a country more worried about Bake Off or Love Island this is what you end up with.
Boris has now reached the point where Trump said "I could shoot someone on 5th Avenue and not lose votes"
