Good on them (finally) but what stupid ********, a shitstorm of their own making. They are now going to have pay him a settlement fee, possibly to the value of his contract.
Can't see many clubs wanting to take him on for next season.
Because, at his original trial he wasn't found guilty. Since being found guilty in the civil case in 2016 he has only played for Clyde and now Raith Rovers.
I suspect his true value was a lot less than £12 million but Newcastle had to pay the Saudi premium and the January transfer window premium. Too good a price to turn down.
They are doing brilliantly, making a go at survival and not to be rock bottom is an achievement in itself. Reading and Cardiff will be looking over their shoulder but I can't see Derby getting the c32 points need for them to stay up.
If it stops clubs hoarding players then it can only be a good thing.
It seems to have been on the cards for years now so clubs can't say they haven't been warned.
As someone else said, leave the finances to others. If the club can agree a deal then he could be a wonderful player again. All signings are a risk but whoever Alli signs for, there is a decent player in there somewhere.
I wish people would stop quoting the non existent no dick-heads rule...
Thanks for bouncing this thread. When I saw his being touted as a possible future replacement I did think that people weren't that keen not so long ago!
To be fair, he has worked wonders at Forest (52% win ratio)
On the UNSW Face Memory Test you scored 20 out of 40.
On the UNSW Face Sorting Test you scored 38 out of 80.
Your overall score on the UNSW Face Test was 48%.
Much better than I expected, although most was guessing.
I don't have a problem with the club not agreeing to 9000 tickets as I suspect these would never have sold through but they should have been upfront and said that it was going to be 5700.
I imagine that there will be plenty of room in the home end.
Cycling to work yesterday was horrible in the smog, they should ban cars on days like that. Today didn't seem as bad although you have no idea what is going into your lungs.
Why didn't you wait for the non standing option? I suspect that the safe standing are will be standing throughout and the rest will be policed so that people don't stand.
