Agree. I think maybe all of us - club, media, fans - got caught up on the narrative that we could sell our best players and not miss a beat; perpetuated by our improvement after the departure of Bissouma and Cucurella. But actually it was a false narrative because they weren't our best players...

This is what I'm worried about. Last Summer's recruitment presumably was derailed by Winstanley leaving, possibly severing some knowledge/relationships and maybe Chelsea snapping up some of our targets. This Summer could be worse with Jewell now gone.

The fact that most of our medical team / physios left earlier this season surely has to be a cause for concern, and possible cause and effect! We were lauded in the press (and Barber loves to tell everyone) - we have a list of ready made replacements for the top player and non player positions...
