Definitely a good player and I'm sure he'll do well at the Arse, but £105m - no way. Yes, its what they were prepared to pay but like others have said, I've never panicked as an Albion fan when Rice was playing for West Sham.
For me, figures such as this for just 1 player puts a hell of a lot...

You may only play 6 matches in the Champions League and then crash out so there's no guarantees, and only 1 club can ever win it per season...
The reason we haven't heard much from Chelsea re Caicedo is because they need any new expenditure (or the vast majority of it) to be done after June 30th so it goes on next years accounts. Expect a bit more action from 1st July on that one.
If he has the choice then personally I think he should choose United. I still would like him to stay for 1 more season, but I can't see the attraction of going to the bag of frogs that is Chelsea, unless they can offer him obscene wages.
Its been reported this will make the Albion about £10m for the 3 games and as others have said raises our profile around the world, plus gives us a good standard of pre-season games.
The powers that be that run the game though essentially have NO powers.
They talk the big talk about FFP but how many Prem clubs have really fallen foul of the authorities?
It's all just lip service and I can sadly see a day when the whole of the Prem is owned by the Saudi's and there will be...
