Someone else using your ST when you can't make it ... [Uh oh. Post 43]

Wouldn't that remove the need for season tickets then as well? Walk up to the turnstile, camera scans your face and in you go!

Been Thinking About Making A Will But Not Got Round To It? This Is The Month To Do It

I have contents insurance for my rented flat. That is literally all I have in terms of insurance.

Been Thinking About Making A Will But Not Got Round To It? This Is The Month To Do It

I'm 29 and have pretty much no assets (no house, no car, no major savings). Is there any point for me?

McGovern, worst performance ever at the Amex

Think he's the only player I have ever shouted "You're supposed to be a professional footballer" at in utter shock at how poor he was with his feet.

Hillary Clinton email probe reopened by FBI director

I think that's a fair assessment. While Trump is bad, Cruz would have been way worse because he's competent, way more electable and an extremist, so I'm glad Trump was the candidate in a way. Rubio or Kasich would, probably, have been OK as both candidates and even President.

Hillary Clinton email probe reopened by FBI director

5 points behind in national polls obviously matters, but isn't key in the American system. He needs to swing a lot of states against polling to have any chance of winning, about 6 or 7 I think.

Hillary Clinton email probe reopened by FBI director

Any good Republican would have crushed Clinton. Even if Trump dialled it back a bit and without the sexual assault allegations he could have squeaked it. Conversely, pretty much any other Democrat would have turned this into a landslide. Even Sanders, controversial as he was, polled a lot...

    Uber Brighton

Haven't heard of cycle delivery, but doesn't surprise me. They've got a fleet of vehicles and a good logistics system, they can achieve a lot if they want.

    Uber Brighton

I was going to say that renewing implies the clock is ticking (and has nearly run out), but I suppose it'd make sense to get ahead of the game in terms of renewals if the 1 year only starts from start of operations.

    Uber Brighton

This all seems a bit moot given they've not actually launched at 4pm by the look of it. But I can certainly imagine they'd talked to registered drivers to find interested parties, even if they didn't have a concrete timetable.

    Uber Brighton

I would assume they've already found drivers. They prime the pump before launch, so they can have plenty of capacity.

I mean if it's on 5 Live could you not just listen on that anyway, regardless of the BBC Sussex availability?

    Uber Brighton

I was rather curious about the expiry issue. Are they squeaking in just under the expiry date so they can show they're using it for the renewal?

    Uber Brighton

I'd agree if Uber weren't developing their own self-driving cars. They're attempting to future proof themselves and get a leg up on any competitors. The brand already gives them a leg up, as does expanding into other areas, like their food delivery business (and I think they're trialling grocery...

    Uber Brighton

As Bozza says, we're not sure it's showing correct fares at the moment, as it's not technically available till 4pm.

    Uber Brighton

It may well be using a default pricing formula, maybe something they use for long distance trips or something. Brighton Station to the Amex would be, at a guess, £12-£15 in a cab, based on the fact a cab from my place near Fiveways to the University of Sussex is £9-£11.

    Uber Brighton

App says £29-£38 as its fare estimate.

    Uber Brighton

Depends if Uber gets classified as a taxi service though? I would assume not as you can't tell when someone's driving a customer versus just driving.

    Uber Brighton

They were heavily against it when Uber were applying for their licence last year, but the council still granted it.

    Brighton Home Grounds

Well I was born in 1987, but didn't really have much interest in football till I was about 15/16. That rules out the Goldstone and Priestfield for me. I did do the Withdean with my Dad a few times, and have had a season ticket at the Amex since it opened.
