Bournemouth spent big in the Summer and didn't sell. This - and the new manager - is reaping rewards. But be interesting to see how this effects them FFP wise and if the big clubs will be pick off their top players like they did to us.
Roberto told an Italian journalist in the Summer that Fred was "one of the favourites" and we were following him "with the headlights off". He sold to Fenerbache for £12m, so easily in our price range. Wonder if we were trying for someone else and then our other targets got snapped up.
Bournemouth are in the form we were in last season. Be interesting to see if they get raided in the Summer, and their manager gets talked up for every big job going...
Recruitment is a big thing - and in hindsight, it's easy to see where we went wrong.
I mean was Dahoud any better than Alzate?
Why did we recall and reloan Sarmiento in January when we had a winger shortage and were scrambling round to get Bryan Gil?
Why didn't we put a January recall...
He acts as a Brighton news aggregator; if a relevant story is reported, he tweets the key points for Brighton followers. As it says, the Baleba story was reported in Caught Offside.
This is the latest one he's put out...
Exactly. In the January window, Palace bought Wharton for £18 m and Villa got Rogers for £8 m, both are already making an impact. We appeared to wait til the end of the window to offer £20 m KDH, who Leicester valued at double that (and needed time to replace) and tried to get Bryan Gil on loan.
This whole thing that the club didn't see Caicedo going in the Summer is an odd one, because after the public statement in January it really did feel inevitable.
And, if our replacement for Caicedo was always going to be a young prospect, why not get them in early in the Summer to involve them...
It's unsustainable losing so many key people in such a short space of time.

De Zerbi, asked if a tough situation was due to injuries or other factors as well, said: "Injuries, for sure. Motivation as well.
"Motivation in football, I think (that is) 80 per cent of my work and in my time we kept a...
Recruitment was poor, but our head and new head of recruitment left, and we haven't recruited in a replacement yet - so concerning for this summer.
Plus, no idea why the medical department up'd and left in August, and if they've all been replaced. And how much that's impacted our injuries and...
Pretty sure Tottenham and Newcastle are interested. Tottenham have no FFP issues whatsoever. Looks like there's a chance Newcastle are going to get a big offer for Bruno Guimarães, so they might have lots to spend too. Both will likely have European football too.
While Leicester need to make a sale before end of June, we don't know it will be KDH. And, what's more, he is under contract and not obliged to join us if he doesn't want to. He's a Leicester academy product, and now they're back in the PL. He probably envisaged his career as staying there...
