Sorry to have missed this top rant before posting my last comments.
Was there anything fundamentally hang draw and quartering wrong with what Mrs Bigot said? Probably not. Would it have done your ears in given the difficulty of trying to get a word in, let alone continue along one's way...
I'm surprised that Gordon Brown made such an elementary mistake with the microphone. But actually, if you'd listened to the seemingly endless stream of consciousness Mrs Bigot delivered, I think I'd have wanted to know which fuckwit sent her my way.
If you check out the REMF website you'll find that Peter Ward features all over it.
But to save the effort, here's what he looks like - he's the bloke in the blue and white right in the middle!
I'll be there. I'm feeling particularly snappy. Which is a surprise given the rest of this week's workload! Anyhoo, do say hello and feel free to have a picture taken.
On Sunday I am travelling hundreds of miles to walk behind a man claiming to be St. George. Anyone who suggests that this is because I am the Dragon may expect retribution.
Let us not start suggesting anyone for anything right now. Let alone who might take charge of REMF's strategy for the 2011 marathon. This is something for REMF to work on as an organising group - like with the Eatons too.
Actually, no. It sounds harsh but in this PARTICULAR instance, REMF should not be filling marathon places by offering them to NSC members and only later put the net out wider.
I don't want a binfest nor do I want to take away the achievement of getting REMF registered for charity places in the...
I'd expect us to announce that REMF has charity places for the 2011 Brighton marathon shortly. But yes , we need to post this information on running sites, not football message boards. Sure, it'd be great if Gus ran but I can't see why the tabloid press would be falling over themselves to report...
Is this "self-sabotaging" the same condition as chronic attention seeking? Also known as "determined to make an arse of oneself, come what may"?
Only I don't disagree that 1066 has ishoos but sometimes, a little bit of reality may help jolt the self-awareness a tad.
Well done, Gareth. But please train for the event. Starting now. I know it is wonderful to be inspired into doing a marathon but good intentions alone won't get you through the 26 miles. Especially if you don't take a lot of exercise now and are more, er, mature in years!
