I was thinking about tonight's events, and how things have predictably, crassly and without any sensitivity, became a political affair for those elsewhere who saw an opportunity to steal others grief and use it fuel their own agenda. I suppose we all knew it would regardless, we just hoped...
They've already said where he was from and even mentioned his origins. So I'm not sure a name makes any difference (given that much of the interest has been diverted to race and ethnicity). I think there isn't a need for speculation as it makes no difference to the outcome here. It's clear that...
I think knowingly spreading false information that leads to civil unrest or puts anyone in danger should be a criminal offence. The law would need to be carefully crafted, but in the modern age it is needed. I'm talking situations like this, not silly transfer rumours.
Depressing, but in another sense, you can take some good news from it. The guttersnipes have been filming it to share with their mates. A few of them best set their alarms for 06.30 over the next few days...
This worried me. I knew there was a vigil, as indeed we would expect. But there was talk of a protest too- which was worrying. Then they attack a mosque ? I mean if they really had to make a loose connection, the offender's family came from Rwanda- a Christian country. So not only are they thugs...
Much. Facebook you can pretty much avoid gunk by simply having folk you know on there and joining groups of interest. You can do that in Twitter, but it's hard to look for up to date info on stuff because it's full of gutter dwellers.
Twitter would be brilliant if half of it went of and joined a gutter forum somewhere. I could block and block again but it's something I don't like doing. I don't do it on NSC, but NSC is mostly very good. Folk I don't agree with seem to put themselves across well and there is always common...
It has. Tis an awful cesspit. There used to be some useful stuff in there but not now. I deleted my account yesterday after all the Southport stuff started appearing. This included an Amercian account naming the suspect falsely and, of course, those without the brains they were born with taking...
I saw his Oxford Union address. He was very articulate in his presentation. The problem, as you say, is his unhinged excesses and the people he attracts. Enoch Powell he is not.
The legacy is that the challenge that immigration and cultural integration can pose to a nation goes unaddressed or...
I still think that knowingly making false and damaging allegations against a person of a serious nature should be a criminal offence. And 'someone told me so' is not a defence.
I'm waiting for the dancing horses. Utterly bewildering twas. Gold medal to a horse dancing to the Bee Gees.
Of course, the host nation can introduce a sport, I think we had queueing.
