If you're happy to let others decide what laws you have to abide by, how much you're taxed, whether you can access health care and social services, where and how you live then enjoy your beer, but don't moan later that it's not what you want
Fair enough, both my kids also suffered financially from that Tory policy (27 & 29) that the Lib Dems never managed, as a minority partner to stop, but I know they would both vote LD if it meant getting one of this current cabal out
You are aware that the Lib Dems didn't win that particular election and therefor had no chance to implement their manifesto, what they had was the chance to hold back the Conservatives manifesto a little bit:shrug:
By the way, i'm not disagreeing with you on policy, simply pointing out the...
The only Royal I have ever conversed with
A teenage Wz "Do you think that you are setting a good example to your British subjects ?"
PA " Don't look to me as an example"
TWz "Well if you're not an example what are we paying you for ?"
A very brief intercourse
PA - spokeswomen for Duke of...
It seems that both Labour and Conservatives have published manifestos that independent economic bodies have agreed need significant economic growth to cover financially, growth way beyond what is currently predicted.
Very simple question, should the next Government begin negotiations to join...
It's interesting that even mainstream news channels are now starting to highlight how all political parties plans are totally f***ed without economic growth. Who knows, give it another few months, and a new Government and maybe they'll be brave enough to look at the actual reasons for Britain's...
The ECHR is not any part of the EU or it's institutions and was never part of any referendum.
Why do you want to leave the ECHR, what do you believe it is stopping you from doing ?
Sales tax, you are simply repeating what was on the pamphlet with absolutely no further explanation of how it...
Don't wish to appear rude but you started posting by saying that the ECHR aren't elected and it was pointed out to you that, with the exception of USA nobody elects their judiciary. Your point is ?
And talking of points, back to the actual one, do you want to stay in the ECHR or leave ?
Yes I am.
If you want to understand what an elected Judiciary looks like take a look at the American system. In fact I can't think of any other countries that elect their judiciary off the top of my head, but I'm sure there must be some.
If they wanted an option that is "obsessed with niche 'wokey' issues like gender rights and promoting immigrant cultures and even net zero" there's the Green Party and if they want a centrist party there's 2024 Labour or Lib/Dems. And the irony of only the conservatives being "obsessed with...
The fact that the club says no contact from anyone means that I'm hoping it's his new agent negotiating hard on the new contract and release clause for next summer à la AliMac. What great news that would be
I think people on this thread are being most unfair calling all Reform supporters thick. I am going to prove that a Reform poster exists who is capable of more than simply copying a one liner (frequently 3 words) from a pamphlet onto an NSC post and is actually able to discuss the implications...
What do you think the benefits are of leaving the ECHR (of which Britain was a founder in 1950) and what does it mean we could do that we can't do now ?
How would the online Sales tax handle omni-channel retailers ? Which of the following should be taxed ?
Stores selling bulky items like...
I don't believe the idea that Pascal has decided in the last few weeks out of the blue that he wants to go back to Germany and we are being 'nice'. I suspect that just like MacAlistair, there have been hard nosed business discussions going on for some time and we have come to a mutual agreement...
