[News] Sky Reporting Corbyn paid to spy on Britain

Jesus wept. I really can't believe people still trot this out, even now. Completely and utterly debunked. Thatcher and Her Maj met them by virtue of their position in an official capacity. He met them as friends, completely unofficial and he never once tried to use that friendship to influence...

[News] Sky Reporting Corbyn paid to spy on Britain

Historically, the Russians tended to use the Czechs quite a lot as their route to spying on the British. The Czechs were looked on a lot more favourably because of their role in the war and it was easier to get a would-be target to believe a cover story of a disaffected patriotic Czech wanting...

[News] Tom Daley announces baby news

I think in certain circumstances that point is spot on. A lot of boys in inner city estates desperately need a father figure and are sadly lacking but that's a lot to do with culture and environment. I've no evidence to back this up but I reckon most gay couples who conceive a child with a...

[News] Tom Daley announces baby news

No worries matey. I'm all good now and it taught me a lot of lessons in how not to raise children, I'm sure the same as you. And it does come down to that single point - will the child be loved?

The gambling debts that Mike Ashley paid off to get him up to Newcastle, the phone sex scandal, the headbutting a player, the 'rape' comments. He's a classy guy.

    [Football] Taxi for Pardew

I reckon this could work for you in the long run. There's been so much gone so wrong that it's clear your club needs a complete clear out to get it back on an even keel. If it had just been one thing or another then you wouldn't have the momentum to push for wholesale change. Trouble is, in the...

    [Football] Taxi for Pardew

I've learnt recently from the Spanish tax fraud cases that if the sentence is less than 2 years the judge can give them a suspended sentence. I've no idea how strict the judges are over there but I reckon the sentence over here would be minimum of 2 years so this could be interesting. It's...

[News] Tom Daley announces baby news

And as someone who just about survived growing up in a really horrible and abusive environment with a mother/father and then a mother/stepfather, I can confirm that the traditional family unit sometimes isn't all it's cracked up to be. It really doesn't matter who brings a child up as long as...

    [Football] Taxi for Pardew

I feel for you matey. Pardew is poison and has form for encouraging a laddish drinking culture at clubs he's managed. Rumour has it Dean Hammond and other senior players at Saints approached the Chairman about Pardew trying it on with their wives.

[Albion] Does Albion have any super fans?

I reckon we've got more than a few. Liz Costa for sure. She might not be everyone's cup of tea but you've got to take your hat off to her and respect what she has done. A part of the club for decades now, she and others have run the official supporters' club, she organises the coaches and does...

[Albion] Most Coventry fans think they're going to get absolutely battered on Saturday

Blimey. I have no first hand experience but I do have a very good friend who went to the same place in the early 90s when it had become a Uni. He came out the closet whilst a student and he's spoken of the place with some affection (tempered with a bit of gallows humour).

Strange how all the photos of the Coventry 70s kit are of Ian Wallace. As much as Vivienne Westwood's punk designs are an important cultural reference for the 70s, so is that strip and should be an exhibit in the V&A.

[Albion] Most Coventry fans think they're going to get absolutely battered on Saturday

Of all the paintings of Lady Godiva to choose, you picked the one with a Brighton connection. Painted by Jules Joseph Lefebvre, a bit of a rarity because when his country was obsessed with Impressionism, his style was Classical/Pre-Raphaelite which the French regarded as stuffy, English-centric...

How times change. I can remember playing them at Withdean and thinking that we were up against a big club. Always had a lot of affection for Coventry. The Specials, that 70s blue home and brown away kit, their Cup Final. A very decent club whose fans deserve so much more than what they are getting.

A quote from the Argus that Bloom would be funding it all. Re. the people estimating Bloom's fortune, I've heard from City brokers, bankers and hedge fund managers. I know a few other City-based Brighton fans with a far greater inside knowledge than me who have heard similar.

Sadly, this was all before my time but I love getting lost in Youtube video tunnels from the show. My two favourites are this one from Kris Kristofferson and Rita Coolidge singing 'Help me make it through the Night'. I've only ever seen Johnny Cash and June Carter show as much love for each...
