He is indeed a flyer, but he has to clear trap 3 who has big bullets of his own. There is every chance T3 will hold him up.
Really trappy race with question marks about every dog except 'The Flyer' who has a dream draw and holds every chance of winning. He's undoubtedly the dog who should avoid...
Really tricky race and hard to call the winner. Some huge pace in the race, meaning some front-runners will need to come from behind to win. That's not what they're used to.
Traps 1&2 will be the best fancied I would think. T1 was very close to winning A5 a few weeks back and has a dream draw...
Good timing on this one.
Finish work, have a few beers and watch the race. It'll be shown in the betting shops too.
Hope he runs well for you again :thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup:
....and now you see how cruel the grading system can be.
After being so kind to you last week, the racing manager gives you a really hard race.
Trap 1 looks to have a massive chance and Derek Knight has a well-bred and very young puppy full of improvement.
On top of that he sticks in a few...
Its more about the dog's performance than times Gus.
As a general rule if a dog wins then he'll be upgraded. Usually one grade, but if the dog wins very easily and is improving then it might be put up 2 grades.
You'll have to wait and see how he gets on in A6. If he wins again he'll go up to A5...
Ha ! I hot-footed it back from the kennels in the morning and made it just in time for the race. On the Barry Izbak video you can see me at the back of the crowd on the winning line having a celebratory sip of lager.
Nice !!
Yep well done. He never looked like losing as soon as he trapped faster and led at the bend.
Shame there was such a bias to the outside of the track meaning he was only around 6/4, but 5/2 was readily available on Betfair.
Nice work all round.
It looks like nobody else knows yet so I thought I'd tell you he'll be running on Sunday.
Trap 6 in the 12.58 and he has one hell of a chance.
You owe the racing manager a drink as not only is he the only wide runner, he's the only one with any improvement in the locker too.
Looks like he's just...
Oh, and you got no chance of asking for evening meetings rather than BAGS (afternoon) meetings.
With my last dog I wrote a letter to him and rang him explaining that I wanted mainly evenings. The response was 3 Wednesday afternoons on the trot.
Excuse the pun, but you're his bitch.
Well if its for charity and a one-off I dare say it would be quite possible to race on a certain night but not 100% as the racing manager would need to ensure there are 5 other dogs of his grade suited by various other trap draws available to race on that day too.
Hopefully the 'Flyer' will be...
One more thing. Hopefully we'll both race on the same night and have a good beer.
Maybe both with winners too. Nice !
Oh, and dont forget that like most trainers Mr Clemenson likes cash. A tip is pretty much expected when your dog wins.
Mark,
Rarely do I miss a week so if you pop down to see Wendy Short and ask who owns 'Unique Billy' I dare say you'll be pointed in my direction.
Failing that I'll pop over to Clemensonville to hunt you out !
Strangely our boys look very very similar. Black with a white chest and white 'snippet'...
essex seagull, Swansea was shut down for sure. Bedwelty I am pretty sure is shut too. Valley is the only one left but the last I heard it is doing really well.
OK the VAT may have gone up by around 7p per pint (plus an increase on everything else of course) but you have to look ahead.
Next month the breweries will increase the price of a pint by probably 15p-20p plus then a month or two after that we have another budget.
This ridiculous duty escalator...
Just had a moment of inspiration....
Is Lionel Mannering still breeding & training in Cashel ?
He'd look after you. He's a seagull too as after not seeing him for around 5 years he came up to me to say hi when we played Kilkenny in a pre-season match in the Micky Adams era.
True story about...
Good luck guys.
I was hoping Billy would be running in the heats of the Corals Christmas Trophy this Sunday so I would meet you but unfortunately he got hurt last week and is popping along to the vets to see if his stitches have healed instead.
With the recession it's a good time to buy a...
Last word from me.
Being back in the game after a break of a few years reminds me what I have missed recently. Billy ran a great race for his first look around Hove and I am so excited about the future.
It really is great fun owning a greyhound and I'd urge you all to get involved if possible...
