Blast from the past. Sure when I first started watching Ringmer in the Sussex Co. League late 1960s Old Varndenians were in the same league. Dunno where they played though
At Stalybridge I think. Certainly was before Christmas when he was playing CB in a 2-0 defeat to Oxford City. They pushed him up front near the end to no avail! Good non-league day out though; especially the Stalybridge Station Buffet Bar!
I've always been in his corner but Hughton was right to take him off at half time. He really did nothing, and whilst the delivery up to him wasn't brilliant ,I just think he hasn't got a clue how to play anymore. I feel a bit sorry for him. Know he runs around a lot but then so does our dog....
Probably a good job they didn't. There was a lot of anger and frustration in the away end at the end and if they HAD come over to us I wonder whether there would have been a bit more on the pitch than just the two scarves that got thrown.
Been playing for about 5 months. Always had a ref so the running thing doesn't really become a problem.
And yes, it can get competitive. Up here in the NW they are now running monthly tournaments at the Etihad on a Friday morning!
I'm oop north so no season ticket for me. Still watch the Albion when I can but often have better days out when I go non league these days. After suffering at Bloomfield Road and the Reebokcumwhatsit over the past 2 months, Marine v Stamford next Saturday sounds like a much more enticing...
If anyone isn't sure about walking football do give it a try. I had to stop playing 5 a side when I was nearly 50 because of a dodgy Achilles. Never found any sport since that gave me the same buzz. But now 8 years after jacking it in I'm playing walking football every week and loving it!
Not bedwetting, but after what I thought was a decent first half performance, I thought we were pretty poor in the second. OK there were a couple of good saves and blocks but they outfought us, seemed to be first to every loose ball. After a good first half Ince faded, CMS got more and more like...
Right, that's it. I think he's genuinely lost it and the reason the club aren't playing him is that he's got a screw loose. I am beginning to think, therefore, that he deserves our sympathy and support, rather than our condemnation, while he gets his head straight. Its the only explanation I can...
This. This is a legacy of the inaction on this issue by previous administrations in Brighton. Many councils in the country had similar industrial strife but got it all sorted about 5 years ago.
Difficult when you are watching it in the pub with the sound down; but was underwhelmed. I just thought Cambridge decided their only chance was set pieces and high balls into the box - which given the way United have played this season I can understand - but apart from that I was disappointed to...
Hmm.....Allegedly a moderniser; but who has left a legacy where women aren't allowed to drive cars; and people gets sentenced to 1000 lashes. No effing thank you.
But these changes have been brought in across local government in the UK, and binmen aren't on strike across the whole of the UK. So either Brighton & Hove Council have been particularly shite in the way they've consulted/implemented it; or the Brighton binmen are more arsey than their...
