Not sure you know what the players think. Those that remember Hughton will probably welcome him back. Most had good things to say about Potter, especially Murray who hardly got a look in!!
Was in Threlkeld two years ago, first trip to the lakes and loved it. Have done Snowdonia quite a few times, mainly because of family in Conwy and also love the west country (heading there in July).
As for Windermere, look out for the effluent!!!
Not going to defend the absurd pricing of train tickets but it can be done a lot cheaper by going on a nominated train rather than anytime. You can't compare with flying because you can't get 'anytime' flight tickets! Also, I very much doubt you could turn up today and book a flight to Newcastle.
We wouldn't make as much if we spent as much as the manager is likely to want to spend. Wasn't that the issue with the likes of Portsmouth and Bolton. We also know how hard Leeds fell when they chased the dream.
We probably do have tens of thousands of new supporters but they aren't necessarily the ones in the stadium, surely? Or, are you suggesting that most of the fans from the championship days and before no longer go. I would suggest that since we moved to the Amex, local support has been...
I agree about the atmosphere building before the game but with regard to Chelsea last year, that kept going because it was long before we scored and of course there were pantomime villains involved. Most games the atmosphere can be good at the start but unless we get a good start it can quickly...
A big club? Really. What's happening and what has happened is great but you can hardly describe us as being a big club or are becoming one.
I also doubt there are 'many thousands of young fans' as you describe. We were pretty much selling out the Amex when we were in the championship!!
I'm not sure he is right though. The premier league is run and owned by the 20 member clubs and they can vote for what they like. I think the only authority that can over ride that is the FA who have a 'golden share' which they can use if they feel there is a decision they believe is not in...
Strictly speaking, once you have reached the minimum contribution period then you don't get more pension even though you will continue to pay NI on earnings!
At the end of the day they should get rid of NI and just add it to income tax.
Feb 24, office of national statistics, only 320k pension households living off just the state pension and other benefits.
EDIT: although that seems to be at odds with research by Sunlife which suggest 20% of men and 33% of women over 50 relying on state pension!!
The vast majority of people are not just living off the state pension though. The majority have work pensions to supplement it. Not necessarily making them wealthy but not on the breadline.
