    [Brighton] Old Brighton Postcard

From the Currys web site Currys was founded by Henry Curry in 1884 as a bicycle-building business, before the company diversified into selling toys, radios and gramophones when it listed on the stock market in 1927. Noting that the shop in the picture seems to be mainly wheels and baskets I'd...

Not going to read all the posts but Am I the only one who turned over to watch Liverpool when it went 0:3?

[Brighton] The things you can get on Facebook these days…..

Whilst working for a courier company many years ago a chair came through our warehouse that was obviously for certain use only. Only wrapped in cling film so the product was open for all to see, chains handcuffs and all. We made a draw to see who would get the chance to deliver it, sadly I lost.

[Albion] Seven years ago today 17.4.2017 Promotion to the Premier League

East Upper, I nearly went home. Saw the invasion but knew we couldn't get on the pitch from our position. First stop was the concourse for a beer with our 'group'. Then I went and stood by the players exit expecting to see the players, pretty sure I saw Glen Murray leaving. Then we went back to...

    [Drinking] Iiiiiiiiiit’s Fridat!

B'B'Q this weekend so had to grab some beers. Aldi had no bottles on their beer shelf so had to go with Speckled Hen cans at £5.49 for 4. Now I know why I don't drink so much these days.

    [Politics] Sunak's benefits shake up

I had a woman who went 'sick' with stress for 5 weeks, mainly because we were busy and I asked her to do some work rather than sit araound. She refused to attend any meetings to discuss her problems, just kept sending in sick notes. In the end I took legal advice and when she refused again to...

[Football] This 'yellow card' rule, did you know it?

Not so much the red carrying over as you can only use the players on the field of play at the final whistle. Here's another thought. Martinez now has two yellow cards, does he miss the next game?

[Football] This 'yellow card' rule, did you know it?

To sum up, Villa keeper Martinez was booked during the UCL game v Lille. The game went to pens and Martinez played his usual role in front of the Lille fans, finger to mouth shushing them etc. He was warned of his conduct and then booked. In theory this was a second yellow but it was later...

[Politics] If there were a General Election tomorrow poll

Not this year. Reckon even the PM could be in trouble. Polls show less than 100 conservatives next GE. Even the NSC poll shows a huge Labour vote.

[Misc] Economic Effect of No Smokers

Back in the day when cigarette advertising was banned in F1 the only winners were the cigarette companies. Off the top of my head I think there were 5 or 6 companies ploughing £millions into F1 each year but Rothmans got no more out of it than B&H so a ban saved them money. As for saving money...

    [Albion] Champions League 23/24 Thread

Best thing about watching the Man City game Wednesday night, they didn't have both of their perimeter screens on which hide the players from the viewers.

[Misc] Which decade made you ?

Born in '55 so 100% a 70's boy. Glam rock arrived as I was 17 and a satin suit from Chelsea Girl (a-la Marc Bolan) was my 'going out' wear. The era of the 'house party', Radio 1 and all that stuff, life was good. Qualified as an electrician, gave it up. Passed many wines & spirits exams whilst...

[Politics] If there were a General Election tomorrow poll

Re 'spoiling my paper'. I have voted LD in local council elections. But as you say, in a general election, voting LD or even Loony Party is a wasted vote. That said, Greens get in so something must work. With a non FPTP system I wonder how many MP's the green party would have?

[Politics] If there were a General Election tomorrow poll

Never knew this. I guess it is to prove the paper is spoilt. Do they look at them or just nod yes to agree a number?

[Politics] If there were a General Election tomorrow poll

Same as last time, I'll spoil my paper because I could never vote Labour. I'm Conservative but didn't trust Boris or the party last election so spoilt my paper then. Why spoil it, why not just not vote? Because I have a right to vote and feel everyone should vote. Spoiling the paper shows my...

    [Football] IFAB Keeper Timewasting Experiment

If all the players left the area the keeper would go back to the goal line and put the ball down, thus wasting another 10 seconds knowing no opposition player would be close to him. No, as mentioned, the current rules just need to be kept to. If a keeper falls down with the ball then add 4...
