It’s a school playground thing though isn’t it. Listing Liverpool players as your faves is probably more the done thing than trying to pronounce the name of an otherwise unheard of new Brighton signing.
A family I met recently had two kids in Brighton kits - I asked them their favourite player and they both named Liverpool players and said Brighton is just their “local team” and Liverpool is their proper team, and they have the Liverpool gear too.
As we all know, a few key player injuries and we’d be having a much tougher time. We simply don’t have the depth of squad to compensate. We really struggled at the latter part of last season for this reason.
I think they only use the two when there are train/travel issues, engineering etc.
