I think this is good. If he is a sensible, grounded person who is looking for a long-term career then he would pick us over Chelsea. If he isn’t, then he’ll pick Chelsea, and that’s fine, because we probably don’t want someone like that in charge this time. We can then just move on to the next...
Absolutely right. ‘Farewell to a legend’ the club Insta said earlier.
I’m sorry, but 94 appearances over 4 years with only a handful of managing the full 90 minutes does not make you a legend.
Glenn Murray is a legend.
Lewis Dunk is a legend.
Bobby Zamora is a legend.
Peter Ward is a legend...
This is all true. I would throw in the added consideration that he will burn all bridges with Ipswich if he jumps ship, and will probably become a hate figure there for ‘moving for money’. It depends whether that would bother him or not.
Where do you live, Clampy? Have to say I think I’ve only ever seen one of these Bullys out walking, and that was in Crawley. There don’t seem to be many of them around.
I do think there is a big difference between a big dog and and a dog that has been bred for fighting. I’ve got a Cocker Spaniel, but if I had a much bigger house and some land I’d like to have a much bigger dog. Just not one that has as history of killing people.
I don’t think he’s been dreadful at all. He took over a squad in complete disarray that had all been thrown together and were completely unsuitable for each other, and got them to finish 6th after a horrendous start to the season. I think he’s done a great job.
I think plenty of others would. Since the end of 2023 we have been the 5th worst team in the league. I can't imagine there aren't other managers out there that couldn't have improved on that.
And made less appearances there than at any of his other clubs. The 'Southgate is Palace' argument against him is f***ing laughable. It's like saying 'Lawrenson is Brighton'.
