How do you think Boris has handled it so far ?

Yes, it was like it was written by a stroppy teenager. The retort about the senior advisor was extremely childish and whoever permitted that reply should be sacked.

[Other Sport] PGA to recommence on June 8th (was mid-May) with no spectators

Can't see it happening in June but with the Yanks desperate to open up you never know. There surely wont be any flights from Europe into the States by then for those European players who are on the Tour. European Tour aren't planning to start until the end of July at the earliest. Certainly...

Main Coronavirus / Covid-19 Discussion Thread

All very easy in hindsight that the events all went ahead but let’s not forget at that stage everyone was still commuting, the tubes were mobbed, the schools, shops, pubs etc etc were all still open. As a racing fan I was surprised that Cheltenham went ahead and whilst I’d didn’t attend myself...

[News] Life in Lockdown: which bits do you quite like?

As I have no work to do at the moment I'm liking not having to get up early in the mornings and the feeling of having nothing planned so we can do what we want when we want, sticking to the government guidelines, obviously. Not having to put up fellow commuters whacking the keys on their...

What Restrictions Do You Think Should Be Eased After Current 3 Week Review Period Ends?

None. Garden centres generally tend to be out of town meaning unnecessary journeys for most shoppers. We go to them a lot and would like them to be open but for the greater good just keep it as it is. They should also give clarity in how long one can exercise for.

[Football] Premier League clubs in 'moral vacuum' and players should sacrifice salary

British Airways have trumped the lot with 36,000 staff on furlough. £2bn profits in their last accounts, probably won’t match that this year however.

[Misc] The best beer there is....

Long Man Long Blond and Old Man are my two favourites at the moment and have ordered a case of each. All of their beers are good and would be happy drinking any of them. Gun Scaramanga also very good and Dark Star Hophead.

How seriously are you taking social distancing?

Finally, the pubs etc are being closed.

How seriously are you taking social distancing?

Restaurant chains are finally closing, temporarily. Ask, Bills, Zizzi and Prezzo are now all closed, the rest should follow along with all the pubs. Ridiculous that they are still open, especially with Mothers Day on Sunday. We had a booking for seven on Sunday which we've cancelled as the...

    [News] Sky Sports pause

Racing UK doing it to, although I've just cancelled in the hope of a decent deal when racing starts again.

[Other Sport] Horse Racing Suspended until end of April

Yep, I'm unemployed until it starts again (see other thread). Will cancel my RUK subscription I think, especially as I'm paying full price and also another one for my father. I'd certainly advise everyone to withdraw funds from all the books, some may not be back again.

Is YOUR livelihood threatened by Coronavirus (almost certainly a depressing thread)

Unemployed after Today until jumps racing starts again, could be a while. Managed to cash in a load of betting slips yesterday which was a right result as one shop took all my slips for one company that were placed across about ten shops in the last two months and amounting to about £7k. I...

Grand National cancelled, it's getting serious now:down: I'm surprised they are continuing to race Tomorrow, even behind closed doors.

Is YOUR livelihood threatened by Coronavirus (almost certainly a depressing thread)

It's all data driven, I have data going back to 2011. I've spent many hundreds hours analysing the statistics and have been doing it full time for eighteen months having being made redundant. I had been doing it part time for four years before that. I'm confident in my data and analytical skills...

Is YOUR livelihood threatened by Coronavirus (almost certainly a depressing thread)

Professional gambler who relies on horse racing for a living which mainly means getting cash down in shops. I'm surprised, and pleased, that racing is still going ahead but am slightly wary of travelling to London to get the cash on at the moment. Racing maybe able to go ahead for a while behind...
