As part of the budget releases today, the political parties may be ignoring the elephant in the room, but the OBR aren't.
Catastrophic cost of Brexit on UK trade revealed in stark OBR warning
Brexit is on course to cut UK trade by 15 per cent, the government’s independent financial watchdog has...
Last time I was in the bridge car park was with my nephew in something resembling this
I was stunned how many people in huge flash cars let him out in 50/50s ???
Me and @Bozza have been having a heated discussion on this very thread, but that is just taking the piss
One is exactly what I would expect from someone with some serious issues, but the other ?
Very, Very, disappointed ???
So, if that is the case, why have myself and @Guinness Boy both said, on this thread, many times that the implementation of the WFA is an almighty cock-up ???
Firstly, I hope you managed to persuade your mum to go out in the sun this afternoon
It was from one of your posts earlier that I discovered that the bus cap cost £300 million last year, I had no idea until you told posted it. And as you know nobody knows how it's being funded until...
Without wishing to appear pedantic, I believe most people support the policy, but are angry about the cut off level it's been implemented at.
There are a huge number of extremely wealthy getting the WFA that I'm not happy to pay for (and that is in no way minimising the issue around the...
I'm not sure of the relevance of whether this bus subsidy is a tax or not
The simple fact is that It's another £300M of unfunded, unbudgeted money that it seems the majority want the Government to spend but without raising any taxes. So maybe someone has a suggestion of where should we...
So you are happy to dive in every time there's suggestions of a tax increase in any area whatsoever, but when you're actually asked what should be done, your answer is 'leave it to the Government' ?
Dinner calls :bigwave:
And yet again, you're telling us where this money definitely shouldn't come from but when asked where it should come from you claim you are too 'politically and economically naive' to answer ???
I still haven't seen a single post saying where the money should come from, even though everyone...
I'm sorry but I think claiming to be politically and economically naive is a cop out from actually naming the areas to tax. I believe, as you have shown on this thread today, that you have as much knowledge on the economy, taxes etc as most on NSC. But I'm guessing that, not for the first time...
I believe he has called every moderator the worst and c***ish at some point. He's consistent, I'll give him that
Can't imagine where that sort of anger comes from though
Do you really think they kicked off with the callous targeting of the nation's poorest ? I thought that similar to myself, you agreed with the policy but disagreed with the cut off level.
And I agree with your statement, but it's a bit like the term 'working people', completely open to...
We've been hearing for a long time about the dreadful state of Britain and it's transport infrastructure, the NHS, the Judiciary system, Education, Water, Power, Prisons etc
And there have been plenty of posts on here saying what taxes shouldn't go up, which taxes should be exempt due to...
I don't think it's quite that straightforward as left and right.
I think it also needs to account for a significant number of 'I'm being taxed more so it's bad' v 'I'm not being taxed more so it's good' regardless of where the money is going. (And I agree the semantics will go on forever...
