Understand that we have to take the courtesy buses back from the stadium (unless booked on the tour coaches) but do we really have to take these to the stadium? Where we are staying it’s a direct bus and a little over 18 minutes!!

I doubt anyone will easily get a ticket for the home ends, however, that said I know people that have visited to watch a Roma league game and they had no trouble purchasing. That was a few years ago.

Grab the Leonardo express train. They still run at that time of night. If you have four in a taxi it could just work out slightly more expensive by taxi but the taxi will take you right to your accommodation.
I have also heard the rumours based on the Celtic match. Based on having been to the stadium before I really do NOT believe that we will get bussed in and back. Knowing the Italian police they will not be concerned by us and therefore, I suspect it will be make your own way to the stadium...
