Not an argument at all and I agree with what you’re saying. We’ve never been burgled in our 10 years at our present address, and I’m pretty sure no one else in the village has either. It’s just a personal choice, partly for insurance purposes but mainly for peace of mind when we’re away and...

No, it’s actually very low, but we’re semi rural, no street lights, set back from the road, only four neighbours, next to a wood. It’s just a personal choice.

    [Help] Home security

How many people leave their dogs at home, on their own, when at work or on holiday? The main reasons for having a security system is for when there is no one home. Burglars are definitely deterred by 24/7 monitored alarms.

No, the Police still monitor and attend. They are paid to do so through the subscription.

Ripped off? Less than £1.50 a day for the security of knowing the system is monitored 24/7 by ADT and that if two sensors are tripped the Police will attend within 10 minutes - that is extraordinary value to me.

    [Help] Home security

Installation depends on the size of your house. We’ve got door, window & movement sensors and a panic switch and it cost about £1,000 from memory, but that was 10 years ago. Monthly monitoring subscription if £40, which includes all maintenance, servicing etc. A temporary fault set off the panic...

[Albion] Brighton fans go mad for the Daily Mail..............

It’s an article about one of our players by a sports journalist. Who gives a stuff in which paper it’s published in? Why does nearly everything need to be politicised on here?

I’m not surprised that they contracted life threatening illness’s as it was a filthy job. I’m not sure you can die of a hernia, though. I guess the coalmen must’ve suffered as well.

    [Politics] Litter.

My memories of that time were of sticking lolly sticks in dog poo to mimic a “99” and laughing at the chalky white dog droppings. There seemed to be plenty of both. I don’t recall the litter though, just uncomplaining dustmen manhandling heavy metal dustbins full of stinking rubbish, into the...

This is close to where I live, a really nice walk enjoyed by dog walkers, horse riders and families enjoying a stroll. Some other people thought it was nice too, so had a bbq. This is the aftermath. The carrier bags are there so how difficult would’ve it been to clear the mess away?
