fans and media certainly wouldn't get on his back as much if he played as if he cared about the team. He plays like a player that knows he's in the team regardless of performance.
His lazy, toothless attitude has always wound me up, he's never really performed for England and unless he's...
£50m for a defender that can't defend.
I mean he didn't even score a goal for chelsea last season. Good to see him leave the BPL though, one of the dirtiest players in prem along with Ramires
we've only really lost 3 first team players (that we actually own)
Upson - clearly a miss, but aging
Kuszczak - a good shot stopper, but didnt look up for it in last few games. Easily replaced IMO
Orlandi - sicknote
I'd imagine these 3 were amongst the highest earners at the club, frees up...
anything over £5m would have to be seriously considered IMO, can't see us selling unless we have a replacement in place though. Can't afford to be left with CMS as only striking option
Personally, I've noticed a clear improvement in Greer since Upson joined, think even Greer learnt a lot from him as well as Dunk.
We had one of the most solid defences in the Champ without Upson too, don't think we will miss him too much
Reckon we should aim to have 3 first team CBs and then have two potential DS centre backs to fill in if necessary (Maksimenko, Rea). Also worth noting that Calde could fill in at CB if needed.
This means I think we still only need one more first team CB, to accompany Greer and Dunk who both...
JFC so much better playing high up, not imposing enough to play the holding role.
Btw, thought McEachran was at one point meant to be one of England's most promising CMs...so average, ruined by loan spell to middlesbrough i suspect
at least Kemy tries to make stuff happen when he plays, always looks for through balls and has guile.
And now without Orlandi, that is something the team will really miss. Hope the new manager gives him a go.
sounds to me as if some of the recruitment issues that Oscar had were of his own doing, by
1. outlining too many unrealistic targets (problems with wage, fees etc), probably down too a lack of knowledge of English football or maybe expecting things to be similar to at Tel Aviv
2. not having...
--------Kuszczak------
Bruno Greer Upson Ward
-----Andrews Ince-----
--CMS Orlandi Lualua--
---------Ulloa---------
need lots of pace on the counter, i'd expect us to sit deep until HT
wouldn't be surprised to see JFC start in the away game too, expect Garcia to keep it tight until HT and then look for a goal in the second half. JFC can benefit the team defensively as he will keep possession ticking over, just isn't creative enough when really looking for a goal.
woeful tonight.
Just can't work out what midfield role he plays the best. Not steely, not creative, not box-to-box, just tidy. Made a few mistakes early on and from then on didn't back himself to play any positive balls and instead just mimicked Andrews role.
Thought the boy Thorne for Derby...
Of those in the club: 1. Spanish Dave 2. Stephens 3. Andrews 4. Ward 5. Calde
Of those likely to be on the pitch: 1. Andrews 2. Ward 3. Calde/Bruno 4. JFC 5. Lualua
Bruno taking a pen would concern me, can see him trying a Pirlo-esque chip. Generally, I see a good penalty taker as a usually...
