Just read Phillips O' Brien's latest. Here's a link, but you'll need to subscribe to read it, although this is free. Basically, he thinks the primary US/Russia strategy is to get Zelensky to agree to a cease fire followed by an election. This would then give them the chance to destabilise Ukraine. This is also the only thing they care about right now - everything else is about pressuring Zelensky to agree.

He’s not stupid so won’t go for it. He should say ‘I will when free and open elections are carried out Russia monitored by international monitors’.

The thing that I can’t get my head around is that Trump’s whole strategy is on Zelensky being
1) scared of Trump
2) stupid
3) in a weak position military

None of which is true yet bumble**** can’t seem to get his head around it. It must frustrate the hell out of him as Ik’m sure as eggs are eggs he was expecting Zelensky to burst into tears after the meeting in Washington and then hand over Ukraine to Russia. The fact that this didn’t work and that the whole world saw through the disgusting charade must be galling to the extreme.
i genuinely believe it’s panic stations behind the scenes at Trump central.

There appears to be a pattern of making provocative statements against Ukraine /Zelensky just before diplomatic meetings have been arranged to negotiate a peace deal.

First it was Trump calling Zelensky a dictator and saying Ukraine started the war, just before the Oval office meeting.

And now just before the meeting in Saudi Arabia its Musk implying that Ukraine was responsible for hacking X shortly after also accusing Zelensky of being "evil", "cruel and inhumane" and not wanting to end the war.

Its almost like they are trying to disrupt and undermine the negotiations before they have even begun.

That is a strategy that will only work once. We all now know is him spouting utter rubbish so it will be ignored.

Repulsing a Russian attack in Kursk, hitting an oil refinery and then hitting Moscow is how you make a statement before Talks.

It’s the narcissist’s playbook. Project your power and make out that the other side is weak. Make sure they know who is in control and wields the power.

The form of negotiation we’re all used to is based on respect and reaching a common position. This doesn’t apply with Trump.

You should hear him placing his order at McDonalds.

May work in the cut throat world of corporate business but in the real world where it is literally cut throat, it’s all bluster and postering. no real substance because the US perceived power was that the rest of the world couldn’t survive against Putin without Uncle Sam. That is clearly not the case anymore.
If we ARE to look at this whole mess in trumps terms then he has done a Ratner. Absolutely destroyed the US brand and turned them into a laughing stock.

Musk has publically stated he doesn't feel empathy, and yet he professes to feel that Ukrainians are under the thumb of Zelenskiy's evil inhumanity. Musk is a nasty piece of shit, and totally shamed by Zelenskiy's courage.
If Ukrainians felt Zelenskiy was inhumane or evil they would have kicked him out a long time ago.
