Deepest, darkest Sussex
Bringing him back in and breaking up a settled and performing partnership with Igor and JPvH caused our bad run of form earlier in the season

No need to bring him back in. His time will come through injury / suspension eventually.

He doesn't come back in until either an injury or a prolonged drop-off in form from either Webdini or JPVH (the latter scenario is less likely given how few games there are left in the season).
This. All day long. Nobody should walk back into a form side whoever they are.

For the first time in a long long time, I don't think he will be first pick when he's fit.

But like Jason Steele, Dunky will do a brilliant job as backup in and around the squad when he's fit again and, like Jason, when the opportunity arises, will have a few more periods in the Sun yet

100% this.

I personally still rate Dunk above Webster (think he's got more accurate long passing and better positioning), but no changes until injuries or shocking performance from Webdini.

Webster has earned his place.

Currently injured and with the form that Albion are presently in what would you do when Dunk returns to match day selection fitness ? Personally leave the present set-up as it is we're ticking along nicely.
Didn't you know he's taken up darts and set up a double act with Luke Littler.
Hell be known as Lewis Tallerer.

Successive managers have bought Dunky back in after an injury. This is the most serious threat to his starting position he's had in the PL years, but i'm not ruling out that Hurzeler does bring him back in.

Whoever misses out is desperately unlucky if it happens like that. I can just see the manager trying some Webster at right back / 3 central defenders type fudge

There’s currently no sane case which can be made for Dunk’s re-introduction. Webster is performing as good, if not better, than Dunk has been for the past year or so.

Last time dunk was out we went on a decent run, he came back in and out form dipped massively.
We're on a good run again so for me he has to sit it out while the team is racking up the points.

Surely there isn't a fan who has watched Albion recently who rates current form Dunk above current form Webster? FAB is going to need to show maturity beyond his years to break the bad news to Dunky.

We've got one game till the international break. we'll go in unchanged or near enough unchanged.

But afterwards there's a possibility that Dunk, Veltman and Welbeck are fit to start. Who knows maybe Solly as well. That's when the selection dilemmas really kick in.

I don't think that Hurzeler will be seeing any of these decisions as easy to make.

Well he's not been on his best form, but I'd say the team more generally wasn't playing well then too.

We had loads more injuries and formation didn't have the wingers / whole team tracking back or defending as well either.

I know people on this forum love a scapegoat or to pick on individuals, but there's often wider context.

My point is I personally still rate Dunk. And I'd back him to get back up to his best.

But as said, Webster stays in for now imo.
