Probably the best way of doing it esp as the “player leaving the pitch at the nearest point” seems to have been shelved.Referees use exact time i.e. they stop their watch and restart after subs are completed.

It makes perfect sense as well.Probably the best way of doing it esp as the “player leaving the pitch at the nearest point” seems to have been shelved.
Totally agree the ball should go dead from any forward attacking motion, or you will get a repeat of this famous event, with Clive The Book...
Fulham celebrated their goal for 3 minutesI have long believed that 30 secs is allegedly added on for each substitution, is that actually in the laws? If so there would have been almost 5 mins just for the subs alone.
Yep and moving the ball to the other side for a goal kick taking all the time in the worldThe Fulham keeper wasted a lot of time, including straightening his socks before kicking it, so an extra 30 secs or so seemed fair overall.

Their failure to stay humble, unravelled at 4:55pm.
Was going to point that out. And I am sure we were already well beyond 'Fergie Time' when the handball occurred as well.I think, as the team who had a penalty given against them AFTER the full time whistle had been blown, we hold all the Aces when it comes to other teams moans about time-keeping!
Fulham scored in the first half.
This had no effect on second half added time.
Let's be honest: if we had a penalty against us 20 seconds after extra time should have finished, there would be howls of outrage.
Yes that is a nuance I completely missed.
That aside are you saying you wouldn't have been calling foul when it went past 5 mins and the opponent gets a penalty?
I was surprised when the board went up for as many as 5 minutes. It didn't feel like there were many stoppages in the second half. A couple of VAR checks for the offsides and substitutions but I was expecting 3, maybe 4 minutes added on.
We scored in the first halfThere were 9 substitutions in the second half, across 6 different times. That alone is 3 minutes. Then the VAR for Van Hecke's goal which was surprisingly long, plus 2 shorter VAR's for our two disallowed goals. Then you've got the standard time wasting. That was easily 5 minutes total.
