Off to WH Lung tonight.

in other far more exciting news, if indeed that is news, Stereolab have announced an extensive tour of Europe and America starting in May and finishing in the UK in December. They play Corn Exchange on the 5th. Promises to be great.

Robert Forster and Stereolab announcing Brighton gigs on the same day - like all (or two of) my Christmases coming at once!

Enjoyed W H Lung last night. Coming onto Two Tribes set the scene perfectly, followed by just over an hour of tracks from all three albums. Ending with a full 8 minutes of Inspiration. Shame to see it was not as full as it should have been though.

Really good I agree...

Seemed pretty packed where I was...I remember seeing Robin Scott supporting someone there to about 6 people...I thought 'that name seems familiar' and the penny dropped when he went into 'Pop Musik' ! Mmmmmm

WH Lung are well decent live aren't they. Got caught up in Covid a bit didn't they which I think was a shame as it took the wind out of their sails a bit.

Talib Kweli at the Arch tonight for me.

Think I’m so used to being squashed at Chalk it was refreshing to be able to breath. We were near the front and had a fair bit of space to dance.

SPIRIT OF THE BEEHIVE were superb at Greendoor last night, absolutely rattled through 20 odd songs, really pleased to have caught them. Such a good live performance.

Talib Kweli was a good time last night. Beatdown events through the years have always been good. Crowd all of a certain age so no barging and Kweli was on point.

As an aside the Arch is an excellent venue. Sound was good and plenty of space to move, though the show was probably not sold out so maybe that helped. Shame the stage is quite small so no chance of a proper set up for bands

Squid last night at Chalk last night was outstanding. Crispy Skin (even at this early stage) will probably be my single of the year.

Thought they were very good too and crowd well up for it, if a bit noisy through the quieter moments. The latest album is probably their best of the three and Crispy Skin a cracking song. I know the support is a collaborator with Squid but we couldn’t listen to more than 20 mins of her before retreating upstairs to the merch for respite.
Was fortunate enough to see Personal Trainer the night before, also in Chalk. Every now and then you watch a support band you know nothing about and really enjoy. They were called Western Cowboys I think or maybe West Coast. They did tell us on numerous occasion as did PT who invited them back for one last song. Anyway, one to watch out for.

Went to see Architects album launch at the Concorde last night after a very pleasant afternoon in the pub watching the game.

The new album is an absolute banger and a completely rammed C2 lapped it up. Nice early finish meant I could stagger home and start to watch the game again!

Definitely one I’ll be looking to get tickets for.

LCD Soundsystem for their residential at Brixton too.

I’ve got Doves at Chalk in two weeks, the new album has got good reviews.
A fantastic trio of gigs right there!

We have a spare ticket for Nubya Garcia at ACCA tonight. If anyone wants it, PM me.

Never heard of him and I’m busy tonight.

However as your post coincided with me looking for something new to listen to while taking the dog out, I searched them on Spotify.
The first song I heard was ‘Set It Free’ The opening is identical to Diagonals by Stereolab so I was instantly hooked. Now got the album on and after only one listen I can tell you this will get me through the summer.

So apologies you haven’t made a sale (I’m disappointed I’m busy) but thank you for bringing them to my attention.
