Was Welbz's celebration an homage to Solly's celebration for his 2nd against Liverpool, from a couple of seasons ago?

I remembered Welbzused to copy famous goal celebrations, and that crucifixion pose on the hoardings looked very familiar.

Possibly just a way of winding up the Newcastle fans even more. He has a soft spot for Sunderland after being on loan there early in his career and the Geordies have always given him a bit of stick for it.

It was the only way he could see the Brighton fans celebrating half a mile up in the air.

Don’t know but I’m glad in his celebration that Welbz recognised Joao Pedro’s part in the goal. Absolutely outstanding forward play when he could barely walk at that stage.

I love Solly. Super player with an excellent attitude and clearly very well respected within the squad.

I know most wont agree with this but id like to see him replace Pervis on the left once he is fully up to speed again. I don't think that Pervis is up to it anymore sadly... his legs look to have gone. Solly defends better than Tariq and thus is the best option for me until Ferdi returns.

Brilliant assist, ran and ran like always - I love Solly and I’m so happy he’s back. Could play a big part for us.

Does anyone know when his contract is up?

Early to write off Pervis, but he does look very rusty after that injury.

Solly still only fit for cameos right now
