That comment doesn’t even bear thinking about.West Ham fans have been quietly happy with him so far.
It's nice to think of them as our fluffers - getting him ready for us, next season (in the Champions League).

Given the players back from injury I’m not sure he could be guaranteed a place on the bench …obvs just a view and you maybe right …I am though like u a tad surprised he isn’t starting ..but then they have just won at Arsenal without him starting
If he was not getting game time here, he might blame the manager. He's now with another manager he knows, who likes him, so if he's still not getting game time then he'll have to know it's him that needs to improve. If he has to drop to the Championship for a season, that's no bad thing. He's still young. Look at Viktor Gyökeres.

I think he's done more than enough at this football club to safely say:

Can't say anything about Peter Ward but Danny Welbeck is and has always been a class above Bobby Zamora as a footballer.

Great run. Lovely finish. Really needed to wrap his foot around the ball, but he's got the quality and composure to do it.
He's much better than ward and Zamora he was a big player for England / man U and arsenal. And still absolutely class.
Gotta be a chance that man U come in for him in the summer if this continues
I don't think you'll find many people disagree as a direct comparison, but in terms of what he did for Brighton, relative to the level he was playing at, Welbeck still has a long way to go.
